I have a question: Recently I was in a health food store trying to find un prossessed saurkraut.
The owner said she doesn’t carry it because it went BAD before it was sold. I’m confused here.
How does that happen? I’m getting ready to make my own saurkraut and now am concerned about it’s shelf life? Thank you for anyone who can enlighten me. BTW I did give this owner your website to review. Can’t believe she didn’t know about it???
Today I’m sharing my version of a grain free/corn free taco option- Tacos made with collards. These are really delicious and the collards act as a wonderful taco shell for the tasty fillings!

Am always amazed at how quickly the list gets past 100! Loved the new take on Caprese link! I am posting our video on how to make Biltong. Biltong is a South African snack similar to Jerky. In the post I included some information about the history which I found interesting. Drying and curing meat has been a staple way of preserving a nutrient dense source of food in many cultures for centuries.

My entry today is a bit of a different one – I address some of the misconceptions people have about those of us who say they cannot afford organic food… it’s a bit of a rant, but I (and many others, judging by the positive response) believe it needed to be said. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

This week I am sharing my latest REAL FOOD 101 post, all about how to make ice cream. I share my recipes for Basic Chocolate Ice Cream as well as Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
And to go along with it, I have a recipe for homemade “Magic” Chocolate Sauce, like the Magic Shell sauce you might have used as a kid. It hardens over the ice cream, and gets more coconut oil into your diet to boot!
