The 9th annual edition of Sarah’s Favorite Things. New wellness ideas for 2025 for healthy living, a greener home, and gifts for friends and family.

My annual list of “Sarah’s Favorite Things” has officially become a tradition at the Healthy Home Economist!
I gradually put this post together all year long as I come across new and inventive wellness products that are excellent quality, affordable, planet-friendly, and wellness-enhancing.
I hope you enjoy browsing and get some good ideas for your family’s wellness journey and the upcoming gift-giving season.
Need more ideas? Check out my Favorite Things lists from previous years for dozens more evergreen products I still love and use!

Safe, Nontoxic Lipstick

I stopped wearing lipstick years ago because I literally could not find a single brand that was completely nontoxic.
This year, Araza Beauty introduced a line of coconut lip color (10 shades) that I feel safe wearing!
The ingredients are:
- Organic Castor Oil
- Beeswax
- Organic Coconut Oil
- Castor Wax
- Stevia Rebaudiana (Stevia) Extract
- Eugenia Stipitata (Araza Fruit) Extract*
- Non-nano mineral oxides (color)
- Tocopherol (Vitamin E)
I also recommend Araza’s non-nano, coconut cream makeup which made last year’s Favorite Things list!
Whole Food Zinc and Vitamin C Combo

Perfect Supplement’s new ZinCerola supplement combines whole food zinc (from guava leaves) and Vitamin C (acerola cherries) for a one-two punch to boost immunity naturally.
Just as important, the amount of zinc (11 mg) and Vitamin C (90 mg) per serving is in the perfect range that you would get naturally from nutrient-dense foods (unlike synthetic versions that compensate for lack of bioavailability with excessively high dosages).
I haven’t found a similar product on the market that comes close to the quality of this one.
Micro-Hydroxyapatite (non-nano) Toothpaste

This new line of toothpaste from my good friends Will and Susan at Orawellness is the best I’ve come across.
It helps remineralize teeth with non-nano hydroxyapatite and comes in two flavors…orange vanilla and cinnamon mint.
I recommend giving it a try!
Bath Filter

I was delighted to come across this new bath filter model that is a significant upgrade from previous models.
Tested to NSF standards, the filter contains 3 types of filtering media to help eliminate not only chlorine, but also chloramines, harmful microbes, odorous hydrogen sulfide, iron, and more.
If you don’t have a whole house filter, a bath filter is a must for a safe bathing experience.
Health and Wellness Gift Subscription
For health-conscious family and friends on your list who could use a bit of coaching on their wellness journey, a subscription to Healthy Home Plus may be the perfect gift!
I answer every single member question in the chatbox personally!
Had a recent doctor visit? I’m happy to give you my two cents on what you were told (or not told).
The chatbox in the lower right-hand corner of the screen is also the place to request vetting of products or supplements you are considering but aren’t quite sure are safe or legit.
Healthy Home Plus also includes no ads, 250+ articles in the member library with 5 eBook downloads, and personalized tagging of favorite recipes and content.
To gift a subscription, click the “gift subscription” box when signing up and use the recipient’s email address with your payment details.
If you’d like me to reach out to them directly to welcome them to the program, let me know!
Sourdough Cranberry Bread

This new organic sourdough cranberry bread from my favorite family bakery is sugar-free too (sweetened with date syrup). 😋
This authentic sourdough sweet loaf is a healthy dish to share or when hosting the Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.
It will please every type of palate at your table.
Organic Cotton Undergarments

More and more research is coming out that synthetic clothing greatly affects our health in detrimental ways.
The best place to start for resolving this wardrobe problem is by wearing only 100% organic cotton undergarments.
And reviewing many companies offering this type of product, Cottonique was my choice for the best selection and price.
Healthy Lighting

Making the right choice of lightbulbs for illuminating our home is one of the most important, and yet often overlooked, decisions each of us make. It affects our circadian rhythm, sleep quality, eye health, mitochondrial health and more.
With incandescents thankfully available again, I recommend Healthy Lighting as the best I’ve come across as a one-stop source for the full spectrum illumination needs in your home.
Best Multi-Strain Probiotic

It’s really hard to find a probiotic that includes the various types needed for gut restoration and ongoing maintenence.
This year, the AzureWell Next Step Advanced Probiotic came out, and it is the absolute best multi-strain probiotic I’ve seen in years (there used to be others, but they sadly went to the Dark Side after a company buyout).
Raw Cheeses

Can’t find a quality line of raw cheeses where you live?
I recommend taking a look at the Petaluma Gold, grassfed raw cheeses (over a dozen options to choose from), which are available via Azure Standard co-op, with hundreds of delivery points across North America.
New York Natto

With natto the highest food form of Vitamin K2, it is important to have an authentic, organic natto brand to buy if you don’t make it yourself (recipe here if you’d like to try!)
New York Natto is the best I’ve tried and the brand I fall back on when we run out of my homemade natto. I personally eat 1-2 tablespoons of natto every day (along with 1/2 tsp grassfed ghee) for my Vitamin K2 needs.
Safe Air Fryer

One of my kids really wanted to buy an air fryer this year, so I helped him find a safe brand that would not leach toxins into the food.
This stainless steel air fryer is the one he chose that is working great! Making tallow air fryer french fries is a favorite dish to go with grassfed burgers on the grill 🙂
Nut Butter Graham Sandwiches (gluten-free)

These organic, gluten-free graham cracker nut butter sandwiches (available in sunflower seed or peanut butter) are a top snack that I choose when traveling.
Tasting and filling, they will keep your tummy happy to easily avoid the many toxic snack options while on the road until you can get to your destination for a Real Food meal.
A great option for lunchboxes too.
Organic Chocolate Syrup

My husband really enjoys a drizzle of chocolate syrup on his homemade ice cream.
While I don’t use it myself, this brand of organic chocolate syrup is the best I’ve come across.
With only 5 ingredients (organic dates, organic cocoa, filtered water, vanilla, and sea salt), this is the best brand on the market by far. It’s even legal for those on the full GAPS Diet (not Intro).
Solar Infrared Sensor Alarm (13 different sounds)

This solar-powered, motion activated light and noise alarm has worked really well for me this year keeping predators away from my chicken coop and free-range run. I haven’t seen a bobcat, fox, raccoon, or coyote since I installed them!
It would also work well for keeping deer away from a backyard garden and probably many other uses I haven’t thought of!
There is a sound rotator option too so the animals don’t get used to one specific noise, reducing effectiveness over time.
Magnesium Chloride Powder

This 1 or 2 pound bag of magnesium chloride powder is a very inexpensive way to reap the benefits of magnesium therapeutically.
I use it in this DIY magnesium lotion (and spray), but it can also be used in the bath instead of the more expensive flakes if you find magnesium chloride works better for you than Epsom salts.
