Vegan Breastfeeding Kills Baby

by Sarah Pope / Affiliate Links ✔

vegan breastfeeding

Vegan breastfeeding has caused an 11-month-old baby to die and the parents are charged with neglect after an autopsy indicated the baby suffered from severe deficiencies in Vitamin B12 and Vitamin A. Both these nutrients are known to be critical to a child’s development and sorely lacking in a vegan diet. This is why doctors strongly advise against nursing mothers and growing children following a vegan diet (1).

Vegans have long been advised to take B12 supplements as long term veganism runs the huge risk of serious B12 deficiency as well as other nutrients only found in animal foods such as true Vitamin A.  Beta carotene is not true vitamin A nor does it easily convert to adequate amounts of Vitamin A in the body to sustain optimal health.

While charging the parents in this tragedy is questionable as it smacks of too much interference by government into private life, it does communicate a clear message to other vegans:  abstinence from all animal foods is a danger to one’s health and most particularly, your baby!

It also sends a clear message that what a nursing Mother eats definitely DOES affect the quality of her breastmilk, particularly with vegan breastfeeding. Many breastfeeding advocates insist that breastmilk will include all a baby needs despite what the Mother eats, but clearly this is not the case.

Traditional cultures took great care to ensure that pregnant and breastfeeding mothers consumed ample amounts of animal foods rich in vitamins A, D, E, K2 and of course B12. These foods included grass-fed butter, pastured eggs, liver, seafood, and fish eggs. Notice that none – NOT ONE of these traditionally sacred foods is plant-based!

Incidentally, the 2017 vegan film What The Health was unable to cite a single successful vegan population group either. Why? Because there are none. Ever.

If you are pregnant and breastfeeding and would like to learn what foods will maximally support the health of your baby while nursing, please check this link for the complete listing of traditionally sacred foods for optimal fetal and baby development. These foods will also ensure the preservation of your own health during pregnancy and lactation which can easily deplete a Mother’s nutritional stores leaving her vulnerable to exhaustion.

Vegan Parents Convicted

The vegan breastfeeding mother and father whose baby died as described in this article were convicted by a French court to 5 years in prison due to the imbalanced vegan diet the mother ate which led to nutrient-poor breastmilk and a failure to thrive child who eventually fell ill from severe nutrient deficiency and died without the parents ever seeking proper medical attention (source).

For more information on how vegan breastfeeding and also a vegan diet devastate the health of children, read about how a 12-year-old vegan was diagnosed with the degenerating bones of an 80-year-old.  Dr. Faisal Ahmed MD, a pediatrician treating the child, said that the dangers of forcing children to follow a strict vegan diet need to be publicized.

Unfortunately, vegan parents don’t seem to be getting the message quickly enough. The latest case involves vegans who nearly starved their 5-month-old baby to death feeding him potato mash instead of the doctor advised organic formula.

The child, who weighed just over 8 pounds and had sunken eyes and protruding ribs, is recovering but will likely suffer long-term damage from the experience (source).

I am not opposed to different diets or eating preferences but do know this…No matter how well you think you eat, how good your diet it, You have to use nutritional supplementation today because of the way our foods, even organic, are commercially grown and processed.
And so called “Natural” vitamins which are made from rocks and petroleum will not do the job. You need 100% Real Food Source Vitamins and Minerals at standardized levels to be sure you are getting what you need. If it does not say the name of the plant is was made from next to the vitamin or mineral, then it is lab made from rocks and coal tar.
Even beta carotene can be lab made synthetic. You don’t have to have an animal source but it does have to be food source. There is only 1 that I trust and recommend that is scientifically validated.

I’d like to point out that a vegan diet was commonly used by the Jewish people. According the the writings of Josephus, an early Jewish historian, The Essenes(Jewish Sect) lived solely on a vegan diet, and even refused to wear clothing that came from Animals. There is evidence of other vegan/vegetarian cultures, but i won’t get into that.

Let us also not forget that generally, vegan’s and vegetarians today are not purists, in that they still cook the majority of their foods and eat crap like Morningstar products. Raw, whole, organic, non-gmo foods are loaded with every nutrient that the body needs, and they are still “living” nutrients. Cooking food to a tempurature of 107 Deg. Farenheit or higher will destory the living nutrients, rendering them useless to the body. Also, removing them from the natural whole state(i.e. cutting a fruit or vegetable) will begin the process of nutrient oxidation, which forms free-radicals(cancer causing). In time, the produce loses it’s nutrients, and by the next day, unless frozen, jarred, or dehydrated, pretty much all nutrients are lost.

Milk and it’s subsidiaries should not be comsumed because the protein Casein is unable to be digested in the body, as we stop producing the proper digestive enzyme around the age of 2 or 3. Not one animal consumes animal milk protein after wheening.

Also, the human digestive system is akin to that of vegan animals. We have a stomach that works best with a pH of 7.49(On a scale of 1[acid]-14[alkaline], so slightly more alkaline than acid), whereas a carnivore’s stomach works properly at around a 3.0pH level. We also have a long intestinal tract, which is found in herbivores, while a carnivore will have a shorter intestine, designed to get the meat out before it can begin to rot in the dark, damp, warm environment of the body. Products like egg yolks will immediately drop your stomach to a low pH level. Under a 5.4 body pH will create an environment where cancer cells can begin to grow. Many wheat grains are also acid producing in the body, with the exception of Millet and Quinoa.

In conclusion, the real pertinent information, such as the edible contents of their kitchen and consumption preferences, with respect to cooked and raw foods, is all missing from this article. Without this information, there is no way of knowing if it was the parent’s vegan diet, or the lack of a proper vegan lifestyle, that contributed to this tragedy.

All I can say is I blame the parents. Being a Vegan is more than just NOT EATING anything from an animal. You have to eat the RIGHT things to get the RIGHT nutrients and supplement as needed. I had a TIA (yeahhh stressful family!) a few years back. Smart ass E.R. dr. got to eat his words of “I know JUST how your blood work will come back”(insert eye roll here). How it came back was P E R F E C T. One thing I take is Raw B12 and a Vegan multi vitamin. But I eat more raw food than cooked and processed garbage.
And I’m a Vegan, but don’t cram it at people. I’ve met those aggressive types and I don’t appreciate that any more than certain religions being shoved at you.
Bottom line, parents should have done what was right for their child and they didn’t.

The baby’s nutritional problems probably began in the womb It’s amazing that vegans aren’t bothered by the fact that the baby died, but are focused on defending the diet. Of course, they usually believe it’s the mother’s choice before and after birth.

It doesn’t matter how cute a lamb or a veal may look… nature made us omnivorous, this means that at the same time we can and we must eat every kind of food. Most animals are food, period.

I think “11 month exclusively breastfed” is the real problem, not vegan diet.
I personally recommend to vegan nursing mothers to take B12 supplement.
This is a very sad story, so please don’t use it to make war on vegan people, it would be abject and disrespectful.
