The Milk Cure 10-Day Fast (Day 6)

Guys Who Channel Tarzan Love Raw Milk

Day 6 of The Milk Cure has come and gone. What are your observations?  It seems we have at least 50-100 folks participating from the regular comment updates with more joining in every day.

Hey CDC – what’s up with all these people drinking nothing but raw milk from these various small farms across the world and not getting food poisoning?

Some of the participants have made the personal decision to join in despite being immune-compromised as well.   If raw milk is as dangerous as you say, at least a few of us should be hospitalized by now with E. coli O157.

Could it be (gasp), that raw milk is actually an extremely safe food?   No worries, though.  I’m sure you can easily figure out a way to spin it to the advantage of your Sugar Daddies (Big Food and Big Pharma) which guarantee you a nice cushy, six figure consulting job when your government gig is up.

Lucky for you most people are so drugged up on prescription meds that they can’t think straight anyway.

Paula:  Hmmm, slept ok but awakened very early and could not get back to sleep.  Had a hectic weekend trying to play catch up with all the remedial computer issues still pending.  It’s a shame you can’t shoot them!  Anyway, did finally get to have a nice hot salts bath.  Soaked for about an hour.  For the first time since starting the fast I was “slightly irritable” and tired yesterday and it continues this morning.

Had a good workout at noon and a very enjoyable milk lunch with Sarah in the sunshine.  Felt much better the rest of the day but was pretty fatigued and experienced chills and overall joint achiness right before going to bed.  I cannot remember the last time I was chilled unless it related to cold weather.  Consumed 14 cups and weighed in at 117.6.

Richard:  Worked a full day and had good energy.   Drank 5-6 cups of milk throughout the day.   It feels like I could go on like this for weeks with no problem.

Have little to no hunger with all detox symptoms gone at least for the moment.  Am really glad I am doing this.  What a great seasonal cleanse that helps gently heal the body and preserve health with little to no stress and strain.

Sarah:  Woke up sneezing about 6 am and the sneezing continued off and on until about lunchtime.  I don’t ever remember sneezing so much in such a short period of time.   Figured it must be another method of detoxing so just kept sneezing and kept a hankie handy at all times!

Felt great all day with good energy.  Have settled on a gallon of milk per day and this seems to work well as long as I finish drinking by 7pm and then I don’t get up at night to use the bathroom from drinking so many liquids.

Sat out in the sun at lunchtime with Paula to celebrate the halfway point of the fast.   We laughed and drank our raw milk and had a great time.

Not feeling hungry and everything except for the sneezing is normal.   Really starting to want to eat again though.  I am looking forward to being done in the next few days!

Thank you for the inspiration to do this. I had too many issues with lactose indigestion on 3/1, so I had to restart on 3/2 and tried lactase enzyme with 36 hour yogurt and kefir and did fine. I have been having head aches around my eyes and a slight fever on Sat. I figured it was a detox as I felt the same when I did a bromine push with iodine. I tested with BioSET yesterday and she confirmed that I am doing lots of detoxing, mostly chemicals. She recommended that I stick with the fast for 2-3 weeks. So I’m back to the farmers market today to get 18 more bottles of jersey pastured raw milk!

Great post, Sarah! My sentiments exactly.

Day 6 was good. Last night not so much, woke up a 3 am and could not go back to sleep. I have really not had a BM in three days. I had a little cramping this morning, went a tiny bit. Not sure what to do other than enemas, which did nothing the first time I tried. Will try again later today.

I still battle with pretty intense hunger late afternoon and evening. This is the part I am not enjoying, curious as to why because the pangs occur before and continue after drinking milk. It seems most of the fasters are not experiencing this. Some other issue???

Really looking forward to Sunday and eating solid food again. I had a dream last night that I unconsciously started nibbling on food I was preparing and had to force myself to stop. I am browsing through my preserving books and have looked at recipes on line, then I just have to quit. I keep thinking about one bloggers buck wheart pancakes, can’t remember whose.

Have lost 6 pounds in 6 days. Face looks healthy, my waist is smaller, today I will try Sarah’s sun belly bathing, it is a rare day of sun around here, although in the 30’s right now.

I am very thankful I have this group for support, thank you, Sarah and Paula!

I am on day seven and yesterday was hard. I thought about food all day. But I had made up my mind to see it through, so I behaved. I only had about 6 cups but I think I’ll up that today. I really wanted to loose weight (badly), and so far have only lost the 4 pounds that came off right away, inspite of low consumption.

I’ve had some mild congestion but it seems better now. Also, I had some jaw pain yesterday. I have several crowns; wish I was like my four adult kids with virtually no fillings! It seems to be gone today.

Sarah, you mentioned baking soda baths. Do you use regular baking soda that has alluminum in it or the other (expense expensive) stuff? Thanks for the resources and inspiration you provide!

Baking soda doesn’t have aluminum in it that I’m aware of, I believe you’re thinking of baking POWDER. I get them mixed up easily too. Regular Arm & Hammer brand baking soda does not have aluminum and is definitely not expensive. But you can just use epsom salts for a bath if you’re unsure of the baking soda.
Btw, Rumford is a brand of aluminum-free baking POWDER that is average-price.

Actually, baking soda DOES have aluminum in it unless it says otherwise. I buy Bob’s Red Mill aluminum free baking soda and that is what I used along with epsom salts in my bath this morning. Helped with constipation 🙂

Thanks for your replies. I did some checking and found a post on Gapalicious that stated that Arm & Hammer baking soda is alumimum free. I bought some Bob’s a while ago to be safe, and it’s much more expensive, too much so to use in the bath. I’ll head to Sam’s Club for a large bag for a great price!

Is it weird that I’m a GAL who channels Tarzan, and I also love raw milk? Maybe not! Hooray for all those who channel Tarzan, while drinking raw milk!

(BTW, I love the picture!) 😀

Sarah I have been doing the milk cure since you all started on March 1st. I have loved it. My question is I have gotten a sinus infection or at least I think it is a sinus infection. I do not want to go on meds. and I do not want to stop the milk cure. can you please give me some idea of what you would do if it were you. I am in a lot of pain and have not slept in over 24 hrs. Please give me some ideas as I really love doing the raw milk cure.

Try a netti pot with some probiotics in it. Here’s a post on this from awhile back:

Tuesday was my first full day of the fast due to a business trip. Did a partial fast on Sunday and Monday. The biggest thing I noticed besides a little constipation was pain in my left knee, but no other joints. I’m a dance teacher, so I’m not sure if this is a detox symptom, or if I did something to it in class. Most joint pain that I read about as a symptom seems to happen all over. Maybe Paula could advise?

Overall, I’m NOT liking it so far. I love drinking raw milk, but not in this quantity! I love the variety of flavors in the foods that I cook, and I like solid foods. This is going to be hard.

Dear Sarah and Paula, I’m wondering what you’re planning on doing to break your fast on March 11. Do you have any recipes planned?

Oh we have something very special planned for this year but Sarah won’t let me tell:) We will be sharing tho with plenty or pictures.

Last year I eased back into it with my first meal being a couple of hard boiled eggs and a pear. I kept the meals small and gradually added back in my typical foods.

    Hi Sarah!
Could you share with me where you get your raw milk? I live in Orlando- and have one supplier, but was just curious where you get yours. You can email me if you’d like!

    Thanks!!

I feel great! When I was in town yesterday I brought a tiny bottle of raw milk in to the coffeeshop and they steamed it for some chai tea, that was fun. I warm my milk once or twice a day and steep red roiboos in it, just for variety.
Thanks for the link to Laurel Farms, I ordered the komboucha kit yesterday and think my sil will be doing the same.
I have gallon glass jars to hold my milk at pick up time and then I transfer it into 1/2 gallon glass for ease of handling.
