Heal Lyme Disease with The Milk Cure

milk cure protocol for lyme disease_mini

This amazing story was sent to me by Melanie, a Mom who, for over 100 days, fasted on nothing but raw milk to heal Lyme Disease.

No other Lyme Disease treatments, conventional or otherwise, have worked for her over the past 4 years.

Her healing journey is based on the use of raw, pastured milk for reversal of serious illness as practiced in the early 1900’s by the Mayo Foundation, a forerunner of the famed Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota.

If this story is of interest to you, read more about The Milk Cure 2012.

Here is Melanie’s story ….

From Normal Mom to Near Invalid

Four years ago I was an active wife and mother: cooking, cleaning, running errands, volunteering at my daughter’s school — the usual “stay at home” mother activities. Without warning, I suddenly became very ill after being exposed to loud noise for several hours.

I developed excruciating pain in both ears and was subsequently diagnosed with “hyperacusis”, painful sensitivity to sound. I could not bear any noise louder than normal conversation without intense pain and became confined to my home. At about the same time, I began suffering from severe insomnia and night sweats, and I began to rapidly lose weight.

I developed muscle and joint pain over my entire body, and my muscles became so weak that I could not turn on the shower or lift a glass of water to my lips. Eating was painful because my stomach hurt, and my muscles twitched so badly it made the bed shake. For months my face was swollen and I developed spontaneous bleeding underneath my toenails causing them to turn black.

Inexplicably, my body seemed to be “falling apart”!

Diagnosis:  Lyme Disease

After having numerous diagnostic tests I was told my blood was too thin, my blood sugar was too high, I had no detectable good bacteria in my intestines, and my body had an extremely high level of an enzyme with a long name we’d never heard of before. My immune system was so dysfunctional that I tested allergic to nearly 80 foods. After seeing many specialists to determine what was wrong, I was finally diagnosed with lyme disease, a chronic debilitating infection caused by a tick bite.

During those months while we awaited a diagnosis, different doctors had prescribed various medications and synthetic vitamin supplements to treat my symptoms. Although we did not understand why at the time, all of them made me terribly ill and I was forced to discontinue taking anything (in hindsight that was a great blessing, as we would later learn those unnatural substances were only adding to the toxic burden on my body.)

We were grateful to have a diagnosis of Lyme Disease but knew that, in my weakened condition, I could not tolerate any medical treatment. With no good options and my physical state rapidly worsening, we did the only thing we knew to do: called the elders of our church to come anoint me with oil and pray for my healing. Knowing that Jesus had said, “The truth will set you free”, I set out to discover his truth for my physical body. What was the underlying cause of my illness? Why was my immune system so weak? How could my health be restored? What did he want me to eat? In my search for the truth, the answers to those questions would change the course of my life.

Determined Quest to Detoxify

One of the first things I learned was that, whatever the diagnosis, there really is only one chronic disease — toxicity and nutritional deficiency. Basically, my body had become overloaded with toxins and was unable to function properly. Just as there was only one disease, there was only one cure. I needed to eliminate (as much as possible) the toxins coming into my body, cleanse my body of stored toxins, and provide it with the nutrients it needed to repair and rebuild.

Since I would not be taking medication or supplements, food would be my “medicine”.

After much research, I cut out many things from my diet in a quest to quell my Lyme Disease symptoms : additives, preservatives, artificial flavorings and colorings — basically all processed food. I also eliminated soy, gluten, yeast and sugar. I ate only what was organic so as not to ingest pesticides. Over a period of two years I experimented with eating different foods that were supposed to have healing qualities: goji juice, acai powder, coconut oil, raw garlic, cultured vegetables, freshly made vegetable juice, apple cider vinegar, manuka honey, non-gluten grains soaked overnight, sea vegetables, grass-fed beef, sea salt.

For months I ate six raw egg yolks a day from a local farm. I consumed gallons of raw coconut kefir and homemade bone broth. I ate dozens of jars of raw nut butter and grass-fed ghee and drank only spring water.

After more research I learned that, even with my new eating plan, I had still been unknowingly pouring harmful chemicals into my body on a daily basis through toxic personal care items. I threw out all my health and beauty supplies and used only a bit of pure castile soap on my skin and hair. I discarded my household cleaning and laundry products and instead used vinegar, baking soda, and a dried fruit called “soapnuts”.

I replaced our teflon pans with non-toxic ceramic, and our plastic containers with glass bowls. I had a water filter installed in the shower and opened windows to air out our home. I bounced on a rebounder for half an hour each day to flush out my lymph system, and twice a day took a walk in the sun until my legs became too weak to continue.

With the elimination of many toxins and a complete change in diet and lifestyle, I did see some improvement. I could finally sleep, my pain lessened somewhat, and a number of my symptoms disappeared. I was able to start taking a plant-based digestive enzyme, hoping it would help my stomach.

Cure Lyme Disease with Raw Milk?

Still, I continued losing weight and was unable to regain my strength. My hair started falling out and I continued to have serious digestive problems. Despite eating large quantities of food, by last summer I had lost more than one-third of my starting weight.

Through my research, I had repeatedly seen how drinking raw milk had helped many people, but since I had such trouble digesting fats I had avoided it. Then I read several articles from the early 1900’s describing how doctors had used an exclusive raw milk diet to successfully treat every sort of disease. It was described as “a combination of a detoxifying fast and nutrient-dense feeding” — just what I needed.

I also read that fasting gives the digestive system a break so that all the body’s energy can be devoted to healing. Based on my research, and since it was becoming increasingly difficult to digest solid food, I decided to try the raw milk fast for 90 days or as long as I could tolerate.

I located a farm with raw milk about 20 minutes from our home. It is not certified organic although they claim to use many organic practices. The cows are grass-fed much of the year and eat hay in the winter. Although their diet is supplemented with a small amount of non-gmo corn and the milk is sold in plastic containers, it was the best we could find locally. Having little to lose, I decided to proceed with my plan.

The Milk Cure Begins

I began my fast on November 18, 2011, and from the beginning have been drinking about three quarts of milk per day in my quest to cure Lyme Disease.

Some of it I make into kefir. The rest I let sit out on the counter for 12-24 hours to come to room temperature (cold foods are bad for my digestion) and begin a natural souring process that increases the beneficial bacteria. I drink about six ounces every hour, sipping it slowly and mixing well with saliva.

I take part of a digestive enzyme capsule with it – this is probably not necessary, but I was reluctant to stop using the enzymes since they had seemed to help me digest fats. I usually drink my last cup of milk around 8 p.m. and then go to bed since I know the body repairs during sleep.

Since beginning the fast, I have experienced many common healing reactions: skin eruptions, itching, runny nose, headache, increased muscle and joint pains, sweating, body odor, gas and bloating, constipation, dry mouth. For two days the glands in my neck were so swollen that is was hard to swallow, and for several weeks I coughed up green mucus every morning. Some days I have had a strong chemical taste in my mouth. The past couple of weeks my legs have ached badly on several occasions making it difficult to stand and walk. None of these symptoms has concerned me, for I know that my body is flushing out toxins and ”cleaning house”.

Now for the good news: after four years of my body wasting away, I have gained 25 pounds and am back to a normal weight for my petite frame. My hair has stopped falling out, my pain is gradually lessening, and I am slowly regaining my strength.

My sickly yellowish complexion has been replaced with a healthy pink glow!

How long will I continue my fast? I do not know. I trust that the Lord will lead me to know when and how to re-introduce solid food. Until then, our family thanks Him daily for the healing power of raw milk!

What this lady unknowingly was doing is to raise her GcMAF levels. As of this writing, 6-10 holistic doctors have been killed in a 2 month period very likely because they were getting too bold with claims that GcMAF could cure many if not most diseases of the immune system. Basically GcMAF can be made by culturing high protein unpasteurized raw milk using kefir grains. This is what this lady was doing. GcMAF is used by the body to activate macrophages (white blood cells) that are being deactivated by nagalase produced by the offending bacteria, virus or cancer cells. Of course, this is a cure that is actively being suppressed.

Where can one find supplemental macrophage activating factor? Or its precursor. Seriously interested.

2 yrs into neuro lyme – bartonella at this point – I almost thought about trying this. Though- I wouldn’t trust anything that might be able to transfer more spirochete types of agent.

There are estimates that 500,000 people/yr are infected with tick borne infection. One tick can carry 300 pathogens. Lymes is one pathogen out of 300. Only 30% get the bull’s eye. The assays are not useful as they depend on a competent immune system and pts don’t have that with tick borne infection. The PCR techniques are not useful as they just tell a person that they’ve been exposed.

In the U.S., 20,000 women get ovarian cancer each yr (had female relative with this) and the amount spent on research is in the millions. The U.S. Government has spent more on Ebola than tick borne infections. And what about screening blood for at least bartonella which lives in blood cells?

It’s quite incredible: the lack of medical care, accurate data and continued suffering for 100,000’s of people.

raw milk organic in my opinion is something we should all be using. I use Gcmaf for Lyme and i think if ever vaccinated we all need to be. The nagalase from vaccines is main cause of disease and cancer

LkI’m having a lot of the same symptoms, I’ve lost about 15 lbs as of wright now and I have little to no energy most of the time and a headache just about every day and a lot of pain in my neck and back this has been going on for the last month and a half. I had dug a really small tick out from behind my left knee and then a few weeks later a round red circle appeared on left leg wright above my ankle, my cousin thought it looked like a spider bite but it didnt hurt but it looks like its clearing up now. I’ve worked a total of 7 days in the last month and a half cause I just haven’t had the energy to do anything. I haven’t been to see a Dr about it cause I don’t have any insurance. Maybe I should try the milk diet? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at trotti1980@gmail.com . thanks

Does she continue to drink raw milk? I was recently diagnosed and am trying to figure out what treatment route to go. Any additional / updated info would be really great! Thanks so much!

Is part of the U.S.A. problem with Lyme Disease because the U.S.A. sub-species of bacteria hasn’t existed or been in this country for long? Oetzi the Iceman in Europe had Lyme disease 5,300 years ago but the name of the sub-species was not published.
The U.S.A. version may have been brought over in the 1940s and started spreading in 1975 from Plum Island New York to somewhere near Lyme Connecticut. Lyme disease has now spread to hundreds of thousands of people in the U.S.A.
I’m no doctor but no matter where the U.S.A. version of Lyme Disease started, it should be treated quickly. Having normal resistance from nursing as a child or drinking raw milk and raw milk colostrum may help but taking antibiotics early and for two to three months should prevent Chronic Lyme Disease. If your health insurance won’t pay for a full course of the antibiotics or the blood test shows a false negative, pay for the medication yourself.
If your doctor won’t help, then find a doctor that will help keep or improve your health.
If local Lyme Disease is allowed to become chronic, to cure it will take months of IV antibiotics or a switch to alternate medicine.
I’m still no doctor but a diet of raw milk might provide some benefits:
    1. Milk has a good nutritional balance for people.. Milk has low manganese that might help starve Lyme bacteria of the manganese that the bacteria needs.
    2. Raw milk contains sugars to feed good bacteria which might overwhelm unwanted bacteria.
    3. If the cow has antibodies to Lyme Disease, the cows raw milk might pass you the ability to make antibodies.
P.S. Switching my diet from including dead milk to raw milk did cause my Lyme Disease to lessen and was noticed immediately but there wasn’t much additional change after the second half-gallon. One half-gallon of early raw milk, i.e. raw milk colostrum, did more than normal raw milk. I’m not a doctor but I assume that if I had let my Lyme Disease become chronic that I would need to switch to a diet of only raw milk for a few months.

Sarah, you posted that you think so-called chronic Lyme disease is toxicity plus nutritional deficiencies that interact with a person’s genetic make-up. I haven’t read a lot of your site, but you seem to be going against conventional thinking in other areas, so I’d encourage you to investigate this further. There are actually many doctors treating chronic Lyme disease, but they’re not mainstream and some of them face censure by their state medical boards for compassionately treating patients so far out of the accepted medical standard of care.

One way these doctors test for chronic Lyme disease is to actually give a course of antibiotics. If borellia bacteria (or other co-infecting microbes) are in the person’s system, this will to kill them, the person develops antibodies, and then they can get a positive blood test. How would this be possible if there aren’t any bacteria in the patient’s system?

Lyme bacteria (borellia) cycle in and out of an active state in the tissues, not the bloodstream. One of the MD’s who tested me told me this. In the inactive state, they form a cyst around themselves so they’re not detectable by the person’s immune system. That’s what happens when the initial acute infection subsides (which could be quite a long time), and it goes into the chronic state. But eventually these cyst-bound bacteria become active, replicate, and the patient will have a flare-up with acute symptoms again.

You might want to check the website of Suzy Cohen, America’s Pharmacist (on Facebook as well), to get the accurate information about chronic Lyme disease.

Finally, I’m friends with one of the women who appeared in UNDER OUR SKIN (a very attractive and intelligent woman). When the film was made, she had had 2 tick bites. Afterwards, she got another one, and when I became friends with her, she was extremely frail, down to about 90 pounds, and barely able to function in any area. I was shocked when I saw her in the film – barely recognizable. She had 2 brain surgeries to remove masses of blood vessels. There were life-threatening episodes when her adrenals would completely stop producing cortisol, and she had to inject it herself and have someone take her to the ER. Eventually she was treated with long-term antibiotics by one of the Lyme disease doctors, until she became allergic to the treatment. All of that goes far beyond toxic and nutritional issues.

This simply is not a disease that is helped by misinformation on a site such as yours, so again, I encourage all of us to become better informed.

“The bacteria that causes Lyme Disease uses manganese for certain vital processes instead of iron,”
“A Manganese-rich Environment Supports Superoxide Dismutase Activity in a Lyme Disease Pathogen, Borrelia burgdorferi”
Both real and dead milk is low in manganese so my guess is that drinking only milk might weaken Lyme Disease bacteria so our immune system could have some assistance?
It’s just my guess so don’t bank on it.

As I read this, I think the difference is that she took a DIGESTIVE ENZYME with the milk because her LIVER was not digesting fats properly. Someone else mentioned taking a raw egg with it, BOTH will help the liver digestive the fat. Raw egg has lecithin which helps the liver digest the fat…and the DIGESTIVE ENZYME does the same. Try to find one with OX BILE in it. My Nutritionist recommends the ones with ox bile…

I ask because some of my family are long term sufferers of Lyme and it would be great if we could make significant progress and if you could provide some information that would help we would be extremely grateful. Thanks very much

Hello! What a story Sarah… as if I had written it myself. I’m EXACTLY doing what you’ve done, researching my brain out, and had been on antibiotic ‘therapy’ since april of this year with little help. I’ve suspected candida, hormone imbalance, etc… and have trouble sleeping… lost half my hair and have scalp burning with no allopathic explanation. I’ve spent so much money on this, and now my nutrition, and don’t know where to turn. I would also be interested in the details of the ‘raw milk diet’ that gave you success…. I’m willing to do anything for success and hear an update on how you’re doing. Please e-mail me, I’d appreciate it very much. kollmann.sarah@gmail.com

Why not get over it and post the truth?
Lyme Disease has been around for at least 5,000 years.
In the past Lyme Disease had little impact because people received the ability to create anti-bodies from their mothers raw milk.
In the 1950s and 1960, allopathic medicine decided that raw mother’s milk was child abuse and mothers were encouraged or forced to use baby formula. In the 1960s, one young mother told me that allopaths gave her a shot as soon as her baby was born so she could not produce milk.
Drinking raw cows milk from cows that are in Lyme Disease areas is late but does work. Eight ounces per day for a month should be enough to kill all Lyme in a person’s system. They is no reason for going wild drinking gallons of raw cow milk or eliminating other healthy food. There is the issue that it is almost impossible finding healthy food in the U.S.A., but you have to eat something.

Wow. If you cannot contribute to the conversation, then just stop reading. The topic is very upsetting to you so just give it a pass instead of trying to induce guilt or force people to think your way. That usually just results in annoying people and they tune you out. Say what you want to contribute, then knock it off.

Susan, I don’t understand your comment.
All I did was state fact and I believe that the facts did contribute to the conversation.
If I “induced guilt” on anyone it was only on allopathic medicine that has caused many deaths with short-sighted decisions and attempts to profit.
You may believe that stating facts does “force people to” think my way, but I believe you to be incorrect in that matter.
Susan, you were correct in one area. I am upset that people are crippled and die from Lyme Disease just to help allopathic medicine and health insurance companies profit.
It is a disgrace. While I have been infected from a tick, I can and intend to buy a share of a cow next door. It’s only U$D125 plus U$D35 per month but I’ve been broke for months. I’ll have the money the first of next month. It is illegal to buy a share of a cow for raw milk in this state but laws like that are repugnant to the U.S. Constitution an I will consider them void. Well, void until they lock me or the seller or both up.

Although my deterioration has slowed, I am having some issues and think perhaps it could be the way I am doing this. For one thing, although i am clabbering the milk, i have been drinking it cold.

I was diagnosed with Lyme disease in April 2006 after a deer tick bite a week after removing the tick, I had developed a huge bullseye rash at the bite site. I was treated with a couple weeks of antibiotics, however I never recovered and 1 year later tests confirmed I had late stage Lyme disease. I have extreme fatigue, nerve damage and muscle damage in all of my extremeties as well. Most days I can’t even wear socks from the nerve damage in my feet! For years they have treated me with antibiotics, nerve meds, and pain meds. Most of the last 6 years have been spent in bed from this disease. It’s hard for people to understand this disease, so it’s just easier to explain that it’s just like having progressive MS! To say I have tried everything to treat this disease would be an understatement! But 3 months ago I met some new neighbors (Amish) who needed some eggs, they haven’t gotten their coop built yet, so we traded eggs for some of their grass fed Jersey cow raw milk. Their cows are all natural, no grains, no hormones, no antibiotics, just natural grass fed in the summer and hay in the winter. Wow, what a great trade that turned out to be!!!

I have been taking raw milk for our Amish neighbors for just 3 months now and for the first time in over 6 years, I have no fatigue from my late stage lyme disease. It only took a couple of days, and I knew something miraculous was happening in me, I could feel my energy returning, it had been so long….I forgot what it felt like to feel normal and not to have extreme fatigue. My brain is clearer too, Lyme disease cause’s brain fog, and that has cleared too.

I still have the muscle and nerve damage, but I have hope that in time the milk will cure that as well. This has been a miracle for me, and I haven’t changed anything in my diet or meds before or after starting just 1 glass of raw milk each day. I’m in awe that something so simple could have such a profound affect on my Lyme disease. I stumbled upon this by accident, and thank God for it. I have spent the last 6 years in bed most of the day from this awful disease, I just wish I’d have found out about this sooner. I don’t know if this will heal others, but if you have Lyme disease or know someone who does, TELL THEM about this miracle. It is a miracle, truly a miracle. I have hopes that it will cure my nerve damage as well. I can tell it’s slightly better after a couple of months so I have hope that God will use this milk to finally heal me. What do you have to lose by trying this….possibly Lyme disease.
    God Bless,

The milk diet was popular in the early 1900s as a remedy for common diseases. Patients would go on an exclusive (raw) milk diet to reverse disease and restore health. Thanks to pasteurization (which removes any healing properties from milk), this practice fell out of favor and is almost unknown today.

Interesting read….thanks for putting this out there! Lyme disease (and other tick borne diseases) are seriously debilitating and life destroying. Not everything here (on this site) is necessarily based in scientific fact, but that doesn’t necessarily take anything away from what is in this article. There is, also, not all that much information out there in the scientific community, regarding accurate Lyme information, or any tick disease information…..so it takes personal journeys put out on the internet to help people find the paths that will best help them deal with all this!!! SO many people are looking for help with Lyme disease symptoms. Here’s another one….for everyone that has been tested for the Borrelia Burgdorferii…..how many have been tested for the Borrelia Hermsii?????? I test negative for the Lyme, but I was positive for the Borrelia Hermsii….which is basically….the OTHER Lyme disease. It has a mortality rate at the onset that Lyme disease does not have…but then, past that point, the symptoms are all the same. People with Lyme symptoms that test negative for Lyme disease, and are then summarily dismissed by their doctors, need to be checked for this one!!!!
As to whether these diseases are “chronic” or not…..the term is used to describe symptoms that have been going on a long time. Acute means symptoms started quickly. Took a different doctor (board certified infectious disease doctor, NOT a “Lyme” doctor) to listen and diagnose my symptoms, after two of my sisters had this disease and insisted I be checked, too. The ticks attributed to this are the soft-bodied ticks…..they don’t embed…..and not many even know about them. These are where there are rats, mice, birds, etc. There is the WA1 disease now….plus all these other co-infections that go along with a single tick bite. Because the organism was so well established in my body, I was happy going the route of daily !V antibiotic infusions…but I know that the best way to reach these organisms that will reside in joints and other hard to reach places. I went through a total of 17 weeks last year to get rid of this bacteria….my numbers are better now, and I hope they stay that way!!! I had two other co-infections, as well. I am terrified of getting bit again!!!!
The ability to use the nutrients in milk will vary from person to person. This is an interesting concept, to use raw milk as a means of healing. It is very essential to provide your body the best opportunity to heal…….with better nutrition. I need to be better with my nutrition, for sure!!!
Chronic……depends on whether you have been successfully (disease totally eliminated) treated for Lyme disease, or not. There are the residual effects of this disease, and the Borrelia Hermsii, that will last the rest of one’s life…depending on how bad the symptoms were before treatment, and how well the body was able to heal after successful treatment. I think that once you are successfully treated (in whatever capacity this is), residual effects become something else.
I am grateful for any information that helps to eliminate these diseases and the effects of them in our bodies!!! I have a long ways to go with my healing. It is a long and uncertain future for anyone with these diseases.

I am so glad my niece let me know about this. She and two of her girls, and I have Lyme. (Actually, 8 in our family do, but we are the ones that are currently treating and have been the sickest with it.)

I am going to have my husband calculate what I need (since my brain has been so messed up from the Lyme). I hope I can get enough milk and on time.

One of the other things Lyme caused in me was ulcerative colitis, so if I could get my gut a chance to heal with this, then I believe my immune system would be better, too (although, Lyme has turned off the immune system cloaking in my DNA, etc.).

I have just passed the words to my friends with Lyme disease.

Cari, you may be missing the point. Raw milk from a human, cow, or other mammal that has anti-bodies from Lyme Disease will pass the ability to make the Lyme Disease specific anti-bodies. The volume of milk or other foods mean little. I would suggest that you drink about eight ounces of raw milk from cows out in a pasture so they have high Lyme Disease exposure. Since you already have late stage Lyme Disease, I would suggest drinking the eight ounces of raw milk for about a month. Don’t expect the damage already done to be reversed quickly. Only the infection will be cured.
Why didn’t either your mother nurse you or her mother nurse her or has your family been in areas away from Lyme Disease for the last few thousands of years?

Since Lyme Disease causes different symptoms in different people just like its cousin Syphilis, it may have been called other things in the past.
Older Lyme Disease may have also been different strains?
Lyme Disease did not magically pop-up yesterday but current strains may be new and people could have different resistance?
The other big recent change is that after traditional medicine was over-thrown by allopathic medicine, women were encouraged against and often prevented from nursing their children. Without a mother’s raw milk antibodies and sugars, children have less disease resistance, issues with gut bacteria, and other issues.

I am just curious-how did everyone get diagnosed with Lyme disease? Immunoglobulin testing, Western Blot, other? I work in Rheumatology and test often for Lyme but have not yet seen anyone with “chronic” Lyme infection. I have seen some who have lingering fatigue after treatment. And others who completely recover with conventional treatment.
I wonder if the treatment used causes gut issues for some which in turn affects the immune system and causes the lingering effects that lead to a diagnosis of “chronic” Lyme disease?

That’s an interesting theory, Liz. The antibiotics used to treat Lyme might be killing off beneficial organisms involved in producing neurotransmitters – maybe causing some of the odd sort of mental fog or neurological symptoms. And maybe causing other metabolic or hormonal dysregulation. Lyme disease symptoms seem all over the map which makes sufferers appear to be hypochondriac. And it could be that imbalance in gut microbiome can impact any number of biochemical pathways downstream.

Try a CD 57 lab test. If numbers are low, rule out leukemia. If it’s not leukemia, my Dr. tells me it’s Lyme. Since I had no tick or mosquito bite in the winter of the test, it’s chronic lyme. A CD 57 is retested quarterly after treatment.

Liz H, the lyme disease tests have a 50% failure rate so half of the people that get lyme disease are not treated at all. Allopathic medicine absolutely refuses to treat early lyme disease for long enough. Just one or two weeks more antibiotics would do wonders. Chronic lyme disease is never allowed to be found. Since there is little difference between lyme spiral bacteria and its genetic cousin syphilis spiral bacteria, they both act alike and both exhibit a range of symptoms. Yes, the cousin syphilis can also become chronic if not treated properly.
As long as allopathic medicine keeps the AMA, FDA, big pharma, insurance companies, state government, and federal government between a doctor and patient, don’t expect changes.

You guys need to watch the documentary ‘Under our Skin’ on netflix. Chronic Lyme disease is a very real thing and is going misdiagnosed all over this country. Once Lyme has been in your body for a while it no longer shows up in blood work. The Borrelia bacteria multiply and move to different areas if the body, manifesting in varying symptoms, which to doctors often look like other problems: fibro myalgia, chronic fatigue, Lou gherigs, even Alzheimer’s. For whatever reason, our government does not want it recognized as a real disease, and therefore makes it nearly impossible for a patient to get treatment from a medical dr. It is extremely difficult to find a dr who will put their medical license on the line to treat lyme. Thankfully (for my family, and several of my friends) we were able to be treated with homeopathy (which is so much better for our bodies than months or years of antibiotics – the only method found to work by medical drs who have actually researched and treated Lyme).

Heather Maines, what would make anyone think that lyme disease spiral bacteria would not cause chronic disease? If not treated early and for enough weeks which allopathic medicine will never do, lyme disease spiral bacteria will do the same thing that its close cousin syphilis spiral bacteria does and bore out of the circulatory system into the brain, joints, and other hard to reach places. Chronic lyme disease and chronic syphilis are not too different and both exhibit a range of symptoms.

Yes, Annie, several in our family and extended family have had a “complete reversal” of Lymes from Dr Allan Lindsley. He uses tinctures specific to the combination of bacteria within the person. There can be up to 6 or more different bacteria involved within each case and Dr Lindsley can test for which ones for each person. The tincture then is mixed specifically for each person’s needs. Thus, he has a high success rate. This is also why there is no single cure for all.
One word of caution for the milk cure, have the milk tested first as there often is lymes within the meat or milk of the cow if she has been bitten by a tick with lymes. Pastured cows are the most likely to have that problem.

Problem #1: raw milk CANNOT be pasteurized.

And for what it’s worth, there is no science to the idea raw cow milk does anything. Why would it? It was designed to feed a growing newborn cow, not to nourish an adult human.

If cow milk does anything for Lymes disease, can you explain the mechanism? Why is there no science behind it? Why would some mysterious ingredient in cow milk do anything to the borreliosis bacteria? Cow milk doesn’t have any anti-bacterial qualities.

Interesting someone brought up stomach issues. Cow milk, raw or pasteurized, still contains a special kind of sugar called lactose. In order to break down lactose, the body needs to produce lactase, the matching enzyme. But, since humans are supposed to stop drinking milk when they’re weaned from mom’s breast, many don’t produce much lactase as adults. Depending on how poorly your body handles the lactose, the stomache problems will vary: gas, pain, bloating, and/or diarrhea. And then Americans wonder why so many are irregular or have painful gas problems…? These are not “healing reactions”!

If someone enjoys drinking cow milk, then do it. But please don’t tell others it’s healthy where there is no science behind it.

There is an enormous body of scientific studies supporting the superior nutritional healing powers of raw mik.

One mechanism explaining how it heals Lyme is the Competitive Exclusionary Principle, in which flooding a system with beneficial microbes (such as all the lactobacillus sp. in raw milk) starves out the pathogenic organisms including the Lyme spirochete.

You are obviously unaware that milk has enzymes that break down lactose. These enzymes are killed in the pasteurization process. My son is sensitive to milk, but he can drink raw milk all day with no problems. I did a 6 day milk fast last year and my IBS symptoms disappeared for that time, suggesting that raw milk can be healing to the digestive system. You should do a little more research.

Some of the fats in cow milk DEFINITELY DO have anti-bacterial qualities.

“According to in vitro studies of milk fat, glycosphingolipids not only appear protective against pathogenic bacteria such as salmonella, listeria and others, but also against viruses and fungi as well. Butterfat can then be classified as a broad spectrum anti-microbial agent, although how this exactly works in the intestines is not yet completely understood.”

I’ve read about injecting the Lyme bacteria into the udder of a cow and using the colostrum to heal Lyme Disease. This works because the cow makes antibodies to the bacteria, the same way that all other mammals (humans included) make antibodies to combat infections that they’re exposed to to protect their offspring. Some cultures are more likely to produce lactase than others, so it’s not an accurate statement to say that people cannot digest milk from another species.

calico, until allopathic medicine tried to prevent mothers from nursing their children and only use infant formula, it was well known that nursing passed the ability to fight infectious agents that the mother, grandmother, and previous maternal generations had.
There are two known ways that milk does this:
      1. Saccharides in the milk are tailored to feed helpful bacteria but not feed harmful bacteria.
      2. Enzymes or other parts of the milk instructs the child’s immune system how to create the antibiotics that the mother or previous generations used to fight off the bacteria. Even if the mother created her antibiotics too late to prevent her infection, the child will have a head start by knowing how to fight the infection before it gets started.
For real human or cow milk to help fight lyme disease, it is most important is that the milk came from a person or cow that at one time or a previous generation was infected with lyme disease. That is why everyone is saying “pastured” and “local” to insure that the cows have lyme disease antibodies that can be passed.
P.S. A cow and human are genetically close enough that many of the same antibodies work in both.

HOWEVER, having had chronic Lyme for 10 years, I have talked to many, many people and what I have learned is this: what works for one person, doesn’t necessarily work for another, ESPECIALLY when you’re talking about Lyme Disease. Lyme looks different with each person. So, proceed with the utmost caution, should you decide to try this!

Casey…I’m so glad you know personally the healing effects of raw milk. I’ve experienced those effects myself. But with all due respect, I’d like to point out that proceeding with too much caution has kept a lot of people stuck dealing with the same debilitating chronic health problems they want to be rid of. I’m not suggesting that we throw caution to the wind, but what many need is to proceed with determination to find something that will begin the healing process. Each of us must do our own research (don’t just jump on any old band-wagon), decide upon a course, and act with resolve.
Whole foods HEAL! That is the message we should take away from Melanie’s message.

Casey Staats, you are 100% correct to state that “Lyme looks different with each person.” but that doesn’t mean that the cure must be different. The reason that the cure appears different in different people is that many people that have lyme disease also have many other infections.
First to define lyme disease, it is an infection from one or two strains of spiral bacteria.
Spiral bacteria can and do bore anywhere into the body. Early lyme disease is easy to treat but allopathic medicine absolutely refuses to give antibiotics for long enough. After a couple of months, the lyme bacteria bore through the walls of the circulatory system and then it is called chronic lyme disease that most allopathic medicine claims is only in your head. Otherwise, they would need to put you on months of IV antibotics, tell you to used traditional medicine, or suffer.
The chronic lyme disease symptoms acts differently in different people just like another disease that is sometimes labelled the “great pretender”. Both diseases are genetically closely related spiral bacteria. For young people that don’t remember the great pretender, it is syphilis.

Thank you for ALL the help and knowledge that you have given me to take my baby steps further with my family. I am praying my outcome will be a similar one as this women’s is.

Mary Kate, if this fast works for you, feel free to keep on rolling after the 10 days is up.

Mary Kate. Just wanted to share that after having asthma for almost 40 years and being on medication for a good 30 of those years and after trying every alternative remedy out there you can think of I finally turned to GAPS and after only a few weeks on the intro diet my asthma dissapeared! Not only that but my energy skyrocketed and my moods became compeltely blissful! Now at 41 I am pregnant with my 3rd child, something I would’ve never considered last year while I was still having asthma. Water fasting and the Master Cleanse used to help with my asthma symptoms alot so I wish you the best with your milk cure. Don’t give up, you can do it!

    Pastured, not pasteurized.

I would love to give this a go but cannot get that much raw milk here in MI. We do own a cow share but can only get 1 gallon a week right now. In the summer we can get 1 1/2 gallons. We could buy more cow shares and get more milk, but being retired senior citizens that is not practical. So glad this lady got such good results with her Lyme’s disease.

Its “pastured” raw milk. Like a cow that grazes in a pasture. Not “pastuerized”. lol
