proof of healed cavities

The compelling article written by Dr. Judene Smith DDS about minimally invasive dentistry and how it ignores strong scientific evidence about how cavities heal really brought out the drill-happy dentists in droves! It seems they are unaware of the study published in 2019 in the peer-reviewed journal Community Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology that demonstrated over a 7 year period that no drill dentistry works.

As anecdotal evidence to the emerging scientific consensus on the matter, I am presenting a series of photographs sent to me by Rami Nagel, author of the paradigm-shattering book Cure Tooth Decay.

*Another photographed case of resolving cavities is found in this article more pictures of remineralizing caries.

The photos are of an 18-month-old child from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Rikki, the boy’s mother, took these photos as her son’s cavities remineralized over a period of 8 weeks after commencing a dietary program that included supplementing with unprocessed cod liver oil and high vitamin butter oil.  It is important to note that regular cod liver oil found in health food stores will not produce the same spectacular results you see in these photos. Why? These are processed and fortified with synthetic vitamins that are not effective.

The sad truth is that when a parent brings in a child with significant tooth decay, toxic, IQ lowering fluoride treatments, drilling/filling or even crowns and root canals are recommended on baby teeth!  These treatments which can be incredibly expensive are not necessary as in a majority of cases, children’s teeth will quickly remineralize with dietary intervention. Adult teeth with cavities will heal in a similar fashion as long as they have never been drilled or compromised by dental treatments in the past.

What Did This Child Eat That Caused These Cavities?

Possibly the most shocking thing about this story is that this toddler was not eating a junk food diet when these cavities formed.  He was still breastfeeding and eating an all-organic diet. His favorite foods consisted of graham crackers and flaxseed bread.  He also was fond of organic granola bars which he ate regularly.

The problem with store-bought whole grain products is that they are high in antinutrients like phytic acid that block mineral absorption. These foods are not a good choice for regular consumption by growing children.

Rikki’s son also ate fruits and vegetables and organic eggs although his mother avoided butter and milk thinking they were bad for him. After reading Cure Tooth Decay, she realized that butter and milk from grass-fed cows are very healing and strengthening for teeth and bones. Grass-fed dairy also counteracts some (but not all) of the negative effects of the toxins and anti-nutrients in processed grain products from the store.

Foods That Healed this Child’s Teeth

Rikki implemented 4 major changes to her son’s diet in order to achieve the results you see below.

  1. She cut out grains and sugars. This reduced the mineral depletion from the commercial grains and sugar.
  2. She started giving him Green Pasture’s Royal Blend (a combination product of high vitamin cod liver oil and butter oil) which gave her son the needed fat-soluble vitamins to remineralize his teeth.
  3. Her son now gets unpasteurized dairy regularly including real raw milk cheese and fermented vegetables like pickles.
  4. Their family uses butter liberally, and Rikki makes homemade broth and soups from pasture-raised chicken.

Unfortunately, the earliest picture is of the teeth after 1 week on the new dietary protocol described in Cure Tooth Decay.  There wasn’t a control picture available of what the cavities looked like before any changes were made. Even still, the visual healing that takes place is compelling and should give every parent hope that cavity problems can be dealt with at home with simple dietary changes in the majority of cases.

Will these dietary interventions be easy? Most definitely not if a conventional diet is being followed. For those already eating a whole foods-based diet in their home, the changes are much easier to accomplish. Far and away the most difficult change to implement for cavity-prone children especially if they attend school is eliminating processed grain-based foods.

My 4 year old daughter loves her raw milk, butter etc, so I was very surprised to see she had a black mark on the back of one of her molars. She was complaining that it hurt a lot too.

I made a dentist appointment for 2 weeks time, figuring that I would know by then if it was too late to be helped or not.

Then I gave her the following every day:
    FCLO/BO blend
    Small drink of bone broth
    Glass of raw milk
Cup of calendula tea (anti bacterial)

I also had her do oil pulling with coconut oil for 5 minutes each day.

The first change was that the gums around the problem tooth turned back to a healthy light pink (they were a little red and swollen).

Then after only FIVE days, my husband and I could see that the ‘tooth sore’ (as my daughter described it haha) was lightening and shrinking.

After only ten days it was gone!

I am aware this might seem unbelievable to some, but it is the truth. I am very grateful to blogs such as these as without them I would never have known this would be possible.

Oh and on day 4, my daughter had a birthday party to attend and went to town on lollies, cake etc and the supplements still worked (although I obviously wouldn’t recommend this part!)

I am very happy for you! If only I can do the same for my two little ones who have cracked teeth and all:(

How much of the Fermented cod liver oil and butter oil did you give?

      God Bless

elena – it was only about 1/4-1/3 tsp/day. I don’t know what the recommended dosage is, but I don’t think little ones need a lot for it to work.

Good luck and God bless you too.

I am not surprised at the nasty comments; you threatened the teaching and livelihood of dentists. I believe in the holistic approach to anything that involves the body and have regular conversations to defend my position with most traditional physicians. They have not learned it so its not valid to them instead of expanding their minds and be open. I heard it take the medical establishment 15 years to accept a new way of thinking in the medical field. That is far too long to hold on to a belief long past its effectiveness. I believe all things have a cure since our bodies are programed to heal itself naturally. I am glad that we have the ability through the Internet to do the research for ourselves to expand our personal knowledge.

While on the subject of teeth, I just want to add another wrinkle to the discussion. Crooked teeth are a sign of the lack of essential minerals. If you want straight teeth, you should be taking essential minerals, preferably liquid and definitely plant-sourced.

Mothers don’t usually have enough minerals in their bodies to naturally pass them on to their infants in the womb or when they breast feed. Once the minerals are depleted that they do, or did have, they must be replaced through supplementation since there are no longer enough minerals in the fresh food. (It’s been lost in the soil thanks to Monsanto and mass farming, so it’s lost in the crop as well).

It’s why vegetarians and vegans need protein through meat. Sorry, veggie people, but it’s true. Eventually, you will notice your protein has slipped badly, and you may have to go elsewhere for it. BTW. If you already have crooked teeth, unlike cavities, there doesn’t seem to be a solution short of a trip to the orthodontist, but your small children, before getting their final teeth, can be helped.

I am allergic to all commercial dairy (even organic) that is pasteurized, homogenized and factory farmed in unhealthy ways. However, I do wonderful on raw, organic 100% grass fed kefir. Dairy from breeds that produce A2 casein can also be an improvement as well, even though this is not always easy to find. Personally, I have found that the most important keys are how the cows are cared for and that the milk is raw and cultured properly. As for allergies to fish it is pretty rare that someone is allergic to all fish and again factory farming methods for raising fish also create fish that people can react poorly to so it may be worth trying truly quality fish sources- Green pastures does fit that requirement.

The human body is well equiped to heal itself, if we cut ourselves it heals, if we break a bone it knits back together, if we have a brain injury another part of the brain often can take over those damaged aspects…..so why is it so hard for people to believe that a simple cavity can heal it’s self! As long as there is a blood supply to whatever part of our anatomy you what to consider, there is a means for it to heal. Only such things as meniscus injuries where there isn’t sufficient nutrients going there or rupured discs is the body unable to repair itself. Now I’m not talking about diseases that’s a whole differnt thing, I’m taking injuries.

Ok, if you cut yourself, you heal – with scar tissue. The only component of the human body that heals without scar tissue is the bone. And there are are many reasons why healing may be prolonged. You can’t cure everything with diet and you can’t rely on your food products being exactly what you think they are, especially if they are produced/processed/manufactured by someone making a profit. Not all medical professionals/dentists are bad, and not all medical intervention is bad. Many a child has died because of a parent’s refusal to to accept help from someone who doesn’t rely on something labeled organic or raw. I’m not knocking that some of these things reverse a bacterial process that modern convention takes a different approach to, I’m just saying don’t accept pseudo-science of any kind. If the doctor/dentist’s advice doesn’t make sense to you, don’t hesitate to argue. But apply that same healthy skepticism to some of this alternative stuff as well.

It’s been a while since I’ve taken a human anatomy course but I’m pretty sure enamel DOES NOT have a blood supply. Once broken down too much through decay, drilling, trauma, etc no amount of fermented Cod Liver Oil is going to bring it back. Teeth are very unlike many of the body parts you mentioned above. The properties of enamel aren’t seen anywhere else in the body…

This is actually pretty cool, and worth further investigation. I hope it is true, because it would certainly be useful for cases of those pinpoint cavities. Vitamin D is another suggestion, I’d think.

If you can’t get raw milk @natural foods stores, check your local farmer’s mkts. In Calif., raw milk is sold @ most retail natural food mkts. and is perfectly legal. Babies and toddlers thrive on raw milk. Shame on people who spread the false information that raw milk is not safe– Homogenized milk is dangerous! http://www.saveyourdairy.com/images/Health%20%20Homogenized_Dairy_Cardiotoxin_WBJ_2003.pdf
