9-Tray Excalibur Food Dehydrator: $249 Giveaway!

by Sarah TheHealthyHomeEconomist September 27, 2012

A little over two years ago, I ran the very first giveaway for this blog.  Boy was it a clunker.

Believe it or not, I actually gave away a jar of sauerkraut that I made myself in my own kitchen and mailed it to the winner!

What a mess that was!  Lesson learned.  Mailing items made in my own kitchen is not a very practical or professional way to conduct a giveaway!

Fast forward 2 years later and I now have an awesome and longtime blog sponsor, Cultures for Health, that is much more equipped to efficiently and professionally handle all the logistics of getting live cultures and other supplies shipped to folks who need them!

Cultures for Health is your one stop shop for anything related to culturing food.  Even cheesemaking and sprouting supplies are available along with plenty of books and free e-books for your perusal.

The best service offered by Cultures for Health, in my opinion, is the live online chat that is available for any questions you may have once you receive your quality culture or supplies in the mail and have any issues putting it all into practice in your kitchen.

You just can’t beat that level of commitment to service.  You are never left hanging after you make your purchase.  Cultures for Health follows through and helps you make it happen in your kitchen if you have any speedbumps along the way!

The 9-Tray 3900 Excalibur Dehydrator

I am thrilled that Julie at Cultures for Health has generously given the thumbs up for me to give away the large, 9-tray model of the Excalibur Dehydrator to one lucky reader!  This $249 value also includes free shipping right to your door!

If you don’t have a dehydrator already, you need one.  Dehydrators are very handy kitchen tools for preserving the nutrient loaded rawness of all your various kitchen creations including crispy nuts, homemade jerky, sprouted grains and other seeds – even homemade fruit leathers!

You can use your oven for the same purpose, but the problem with that is that most don’t go down to a low enough temperature for dehydrating purposes, and let’s face it – we need ovens for cooking and dehydrating can be very inconvenient for a busy household with lots of cooking going on!

How to Enter the Excalibur Food Dehydrator $249 Giveaway

The giveaway will run from today, September 27, 2012 through Friday, October 5, 2012 at midnight. The winner will be selected by Random.org and announced on the blog sometime on Sunday, October 7, 2012.

Good luck!

  5. water (H2O) is a nesscesary atomic component of many if not all nutrients (proteins, vitamins, etc.) When you remove any of the atoms or molecules of atoms that makeup a larger molecule, you destroy that molecule. When you dehydrate something, every nutrient molecule that is made up of Oxygen and Hydrogen will be affected as well – also known as eliminated – this includes Vitamin C, A, The B’s, all proteins and amino acids.

You can’t then just add water back to the entity and think it will good as knew – molecules damaged are irreparable (non reversable). Oliver

My husband uses ours for dehydrating his peppers to make his hot pepper mix we use on all of the lunch meat we make for his lunches, beef jerky (you can’t keep that in the house), onions for onion powder, herbs, and whenever I make almond milk, I dehydrate the leftover almonds from making the milk and store it in my freezer to use as “breadcrumbs (I am gluten intolerant), in muffins and other baked goods.
