Harvard Medical Doctor Warns Against Smart Meters

by Sarah Pope / Affiliate Links ✔

smart meter dangersDr. David Carpenter MD, a graduate of Harvard Medical School and a physician who has worked in the area of electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and public health for over 18 years, has a few choice words for power companies that are forcing smart meters down the throats of their customers all over the United States.

Dr. Carpenter adamantly insists that there is no evidence whatsoever that smart meters are in any way safe for human beings.  He goes on to say that there is, in fact, ample evidence that demonstrates “convincingly and consistently” that exposure to radiofrequency radiation (RFR) at elevated levels for long periods of time increases the risk of cancer, damages the nervous system, and adversely affects the reproductive organs.

Dr. Carpenter says that an informed person should demand that they be allowed to keep their analog meter.

The two minute video interview with Dr. Carpenter below is well worth watching.

If you are having smart meters forced upon you where you live, know that California power customers have recently won the battle to keep their analog meters.   There is both an annual and monthly charge for this “inconvenience” to the power utilities, but at least customers now have a choice to opt out where they did not before.

This precedent for opting out in California should make it easier for others with smart meters who don’t want them in other areas of the United States to be able to get their analog meters back as well.

While smart meters reduce workload and increase profitability for the power companies, they do so at the expense of the health of their customers.  Opting out is the only “smart” way to deal with this corporate incursion.

Smart Meter Dangers – Video

Here is what one prominent industry expert who is also a medical doctor has to say about smart meters. Don’t wait until you have a health problem likely caused or exacerbated by these devices. Be proactive to protect your family!

Note that this does not necessarily include the very similar looking AMR devices.

Can’t Get Rid of Your Smart Meter Right Now?

If you live in a rental property or cannot afford to pay the extortion fee charged by utility companies to remove your smart meter and reinstall an analog, I would recommend getting a device called a Smart Meter Guard (check it out here).

It has been proven to cut 98% of the radiation from a smart meter! Better yet, the power company won’t balk if you use it as long as you don’t break the security seal (don’t EVER do this!). My friend Beth from Minnesota emailed me about it recently as she was informed about this new device by a building biologist who works for the company Intentional Environment.

There are now two other less expensive competitive products, the Smart Meter Cover (available here) and the Smart Meter Shield (available here).

Having one of these smart meter safety devices installed at your home is a must.

I did some research on microwave technology last year and I was alarmed by the fact that so many of the objects in our homes actually have this frequency. I did go out to check if we have an analog or smart meter, and it turns out we have an analog…thank God. I wrote a post on my blog about the dangers of microwave technology, and at the end there are two videos. One video is short the other is very long, but its an interview with a man who helped invent microwave technology that we use now with WiFi, smart meters, walkie talkies, cordless phones, cell phones, baby monitors, and so on. Its pretty alarming.

We decided that this year we’ll be getting rid of as many microwave frequencies as we can. We’re going back to land line, corded phones, along with no more wireless internet connections. Its a good start.

Well, I certainly hope when they come to my neighborhood I’ll be able to opt out. But paying extra for a safer home really rubs me the wrong way. We already go out of our way in the name of health to shop at farmer’s markets, pay extra for real food, and now this?! It seems doing things right is a real hassle.

We are also stuck with everyone’s cell phone and tv waves going through the air. Whats one more at this point? I fail to see how just this one is going to make a difference when there is so much already.

Be interested to know how EMFs relate to Wifi. Our neighborhood’s (city slickers) a veritable wifi soup these days…

What do we do? Here in TX, they’ve installed them and said if we replace it, they’ll cut off our electricity.

They threatened the same thing here in Northern California. But this got publicity and created such an outrage that they promised not to turn off the power. People got organized, contacted their representatives at many levels, packed every meeting of the Public Utilities Commission, and kept raising hell until they offered the opt out.

Can you still opt out if it is already on your house?

You can try .. there is now a precedent from California. This should help considerably. Don’t give up.

in California, the answer is “yes” For a fee, they will replace the SmartMeter with an analog and then you will be paying an extra fee monthly. Call your utility company.

You are not stuck with them. Don’t just roll over on this one. This is a serious health threat. California just won the right to opt out with folks able to go back to the analogs. There is now a precedent for refusing them.
