root canal healing

When I wrote the post about how to heal a cavity, I had no idea that the post would end up being circulated around dental forums where it became the target of ridicule and even anger from a number disbelieving dentists. The fact is that teeth can and do heal, even those in need of a root canal.

Whether or not conventional dentists choose to acknowledge it does not really matter. Holistic dentists know the truth! For example, Dr. Weston A. Price DDS documented many cases of cavities resolving when nutritional deficiencies were corrected in his book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.

While I received many negative emails and comments from dentists (I also received a few positive emails from dentists, I might add), I was also delighted and amazed by stories from Moms just like me who had experiences very similar to my own…tooth problems resolving with nutrition or natural medicine alone!

One of the most interesting emails I received was from a homeopath named Kay, who lives in Australia, coincidentally right near where my husband was raised!  Kay wrote me the following story which I thought so fascinating that it absolutely needed to be a guest post:

Homeopathy Instead of a Root Canal

Dear Sarah,

My sister who lives in Hong Kong sent me the link to your site after you wrote an article about butter oil and how it reversed tooth decay when taken along with cod liver oil.

I am a homeopath and teach workshops to parents on how to use natural medicine to raise healthy children, so I was fascinated by this piece of information and it prompted me to share another tooth story with you and your readers about how my son was saved from a root canal at the age of 14 years old by using natural medicine.

Jack had been playing golf with his brother over the school holidays and while hot tired and emotional ( a normal state of affairs for my son at the time), his golf club got stuck in the bag.  So, with sheer brute force, he ripped it out of the bag straight into his mouth and broke off the bottom of his front tooth!

We went straight to the dentist who did tests and declared the root was dying and that he needed to do a root canal before the tooth discolored. I told him to remove his drill from my son’s mouth and said I would try and save the tooth with homeopathy. A not very happy dentist told me there was a time and place for homeopathy and this wasn’t it and if there was any remote chance I could save this tooth he would send me all his clients.

I took Jack home and gave him homeopathic Arnica for shock, trauma and bruising.  Then, I used homeopathic hypericum, a great remedy every parent should know about as it repairs nerve damage. I gave it to Jack every few hours and then reduced it to 2 x day for the next week. In America I believe you can buy homeopathics in health food stores quite easily, so always have arnica and hypericum in your cupboard for “teeth” accidents.

Today Jack still has his original front tooth with a little cosmetic dentistry to build up the bottom half and the dentist still has not sent me one client!

Thanks for letting me share this story Sarah. Just knowing these small pieces of information can create such better health outcomes for our children and families.

I am aged 74. i had one upper molar teeth paining slightly some 12years back. since i am hyper sensitive to allopathic medicines, i want to avoid going to dentist. I started taking calcaria flour-12x,
homeopathy remedy for a month. I got well. Thereafter i used to take cal flour ones every 6 months for 15 days. Till now i dont have any problem with the teeth. I also rinse my mouth with HEXIDINE mouth wash twice a week since 2 years, which removes the plaque, preventive for decay

Well, During root canal treatment, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. Afterwards, the tooth is restored with a crown or filling for protection. After restoration, the tooth continues to function like any other tooth. Great source!

Ican you please just explain to me how is it a good idea to leave a dead tooth in the body…..since when has that ever been a great idea…..that’s a red flag for future health problems and infection…..?

      Thank You Doctor!

What would you recommend for an adult with receeding gums and the dentist says that a few crowns are due …. can you use the Arnica and/or Hypericum for that? IF so, which ones or both, AND what type of dosage would you do (and for how long).

I cured my receding gums by doing the following

I used 4 capsules ( used 6 capsules first week to load) of Doctor Best (had best price) Biocell HA/Collagen with 8 ounces of water on an empty stomach then wait 30 to 45 minutes before eating anything else. It absorbs well. Most HA supplements seem to use biocell. the collagen needs water and needs to be taken away from any protein. i can’t give you exact time since i was so focused on curing the herniated disk *which it did in 6 weeks) that i didn’t notice the gums before then but it would be less than 3 months.

i haven’t found anything which states what collagen type the gums are. biocell is collagen type 2.

Also any tartar or calculus that is near gumline should be removed and could cause bleeding. I removed mine with a scaler I held scaler at tip for better control and did it carefully. I just had a couple teeth to do.

Thank you for your post. Because of posts and articles like these, I trusted that I did not have to have a root canal. Reading other people’s success stories compelled me to write my own. My dentist said I needed a root canal. I used oil of oregano to rinse with before bed and before work. I gargled / rinsed with sea salt and regular salt (I don’t know that there’s a difference) and a week later when I went to the endodontist I did not need a root canal. Belief in these methods is what I think was key. Our mind is very powerful. Fear is the enemy. The minute I decided whatever was meant to be would be, I let go and I was fine with even having the root canal if it was in my best interest. But, nope. I guess not!

My Dentist sent my x-rays to an endodontist for an opinion. It looks like I have internal dental resorption on one of my molars. This is a huge blow. I’ve had 11 years of orthodontic treatment. My teeth were too big for my mouth so I had lots of extractions. and years of braces/retainers. It was painful but worth it for beautiful strong teeth at the end.

The endodontist is recommending root canal to treat this. Can you point me to any resources you have/know of that I can read so that I can look for a more holistic way to heal/treat?

      I am really desperate.

      Thanks in advance.

Dentists and medicine are a scam. My cod oil healed my decaying tooth and it even makes my teeth feel stronger like they are regenerating. Doctors fill you with disease causing medication so they can sell you expensive treatments but my mothers brother cured his cancer with Yingdehong tea that the doctor gave him in the first place with vaccinations

Did you take cod oil orally or applied on the tooth? If you did take it orally, what was the dosage.
      Thank you

Does this stuff also work on adults? I read only about how it works for kids. I have no kids nor do I plan any, but I have annoying tooth ache. I have had 2 root canals and I currently have pain similar to what I had in past when I had one root canal (the other had no pain at all, probably the moron dentist just drilled away, biatch). I wonder how it has worked for people in their 20ies or 30ies. I bought the Cure Tooth Decay e-book a few mins ago. I want to reverse as much as possible of whatever things have been done wrong to my teeth.

      ddNYC-
I personally have had success with healing my own cavity, not just my daughters. My cavity was not as deep or large as hers, but I did have it for almost a year while I was pregnant with my 3rd child. I didn’t want to do any dental work while I was pregnant so I held off- and I am so glad I did because I started the FCLO and it was completely healed by the end of my pregnancy. I have no sensitivity to hot or cold or sweets any longer. I can’t even feel where the cavity used to be- so YES it works for adults as well! Look on this site for a testimonial video from a guy named “Mike” he shares success as an adult with healing a root canal.
Sarah, have you weighed in on why you think Mercola no longer supports FCLO?? Just curious what your 2 cents are!
      Thanks!

yes. I need encouragement, thanks Andrea!

Basically I assume that the cavity is developing underneath a filling. I don’t have a visible cavity nor is the tooth sensitive in a “typical” way. So the dentist last year told me to get root canal (I had no clue there is natural cure even possible for teeth) so I got root canal because the pain was crazy and it was the same situation I assume is going on now – infection underneath the filing.

Quite honestly I don’t care what the problem is – I am tired of the medical conspiracy and big pharma killing people with mercury and many other poisons. I can’t wait to see them in hell. I also have lost respect for all doctors except holistic ones. It is a sad day when if someone in party says they’re in medical school or a doctor, that I tell them to rot in hell and go away from me.

What I will do is I will use everything holistic I can find on the internet and go to the doc if the problem doesn’t go away. It probably will. Last year I had an ovarian cyst and I was supposed to get a surgery. I said hell no, I better die and found an online program to deal with it naturally and via detox etc. Guess what, the thing didn’t burst. It just disappeared and there is a sonogram to prove it. It disappeared within a WEEK. So I believe that I will never ever have anything drilled in my teeth and what I have I will replace with non poison fillings and consult a holistic dentist maybe I can somehow grow teeth tissue where smaller fillings are.

hey glad to hear both your success stories. My girlfriend has an ovarian cyst diagnosed. If you dont mind could you please shed some light on what program did you do or detox diet it involved. I’m not so keen on her going the surgery way too.. Thanks a bunch!

If that cyst leads to Ovarian cancer, please learn all you can about a medicine called NALTREXONE, available at most pharmacies.

Typically, you order it in a low-dose form for cancer control
      aka: LOW DOSE NALTREXONE

One tablet each night before bed. That’s it!

Do a Google search for: Low Dose Naltrexone for ovarian cancer

Most ovarian cysts reflect elevated estrogens relative to other hormones particularly progesterone. This is a common issue these days, as many toxins in our environment are metabolized as estrogen by the body, though they are really toxic imposters. Improving progesterone levels will often help balance this problem (via a topical progesterone cream, or via a nutrient I use in my practice), in addition to adding more cruciferous vegetables or the extract of cruciferous vegetables (called DIM) which helps detox this toxic form of estrogen. It is also cancer protective.

Homeopathy is extremely beneficial for children, adults and pets. I have used it in my work for over 30 years. We keep a huge number of remedies in our own first aid cabinet as well. Your root canal is probably going ‘bad.’ Most root canals are not done to completion, meaning the ligament that attaches the tooth to the jaw is usually not removed. It is left intact or even damaged during the procedure, but almost never removed. It is this ligament that usually becomes infected. Rub some oregano oil diluted in another oil slightly on the sore area a few times per day. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide. Avoid using toothpaste with fluoride… it weakens the enamel of the tooth and causes destruction of the jaw bone and other bones of the body. Colloidal silver may also be useful. For the likely abscess, homeopathic silica or hepar sulf or both could be very helpful.
