Deadly, Drug Resistant Infections from Eating Store Meat

by Sarah Pope / Affiliate Links ✔

supermarket meat
If you aren’t yet convinced that you simply MUST buy your meat directly from a farmer you trust or at the very least an organic food company that employs humane animal husbandry practices, then this AP article on the wire today should hopefully give you the kick in the pants you need to make this important change to your shopping habits. The quality of store meats has sunk to such a low that a person can now contract drug resistant, deadly infections from eating the meat of these animals that are routinely fed antibiotics with their feed. Contact your local Weston A. Price Chapter Leader to obtain a list of local farmers in your area where you can buy clean, antibiotic free meats. Making this change has never been more important to your family’s health! (http://www.westonaprice.org/chapters/)

Sarah, I thoroughly agree with the dangers of eating this meat. But, wher around here is a good place to get the good stuff (I live in Trinity)? My husband's business went in the toilet and hasn't brought a dime home in months. So, as you can imagine the food budget is close to non-existant. I do have grain that a friend grinds for me (have been looking for months on Craigslist, etc for one cheap but no success yet). I use the grain to make bread, pancakes, etc. We cannot afford, at this time, to buy any meat in any type of bulk. Are there any local butchers you know of that would carry organic grass fed meats? Thank you! Dawn
