Child Administered 4 Vaccines Without Parental Consent

by Sarah TheHealthyHomeEconomist February 29, 2012

It appears the time has come for parents who oppose vaccination to instruct their children to kick, scream, and fight if any authorities at school, a doctor’s office or anyone else ever attempts to vaccinate them.

An attempt by someone to vaccinate a minor without parental consent should be treated by the child the same way as physical assault by a stranger, with the threat to health being extremely grave in either situation.

In other words, the child should be taught to resist and refuse, even screaming for another adult to come to their assistance if necessary.

Detroit mother Sighle Kinney is probably wishing she had done something similar as her 14 year old daughter was recently administered no less than FOUR vaccines, including HPV, without her knowledge or consent.

The mother is “angry with everybody” over this turn of events particularly since she specifically signed a document indicating that medical treatment must never be administered to her daughter without her consent.

Ms. Kinney’s daughter developed a rash all over her body as a result of the poison forcibly injected into her body and had to miss several days of school as a result.

It must be properly conform with the guardian and parents, it seems that the organization has pathetically intruded every guardians and parent’s responsibility. It’s complicated to discuss things over the right of every parents and also taking the side of the organization.

Vaccine Damage can be reversed. I have spoken with parents who went as far as healed their children from Autism & mercury poisoning through Holistic approaches and diet. So parents, there is light at the end of the needle. If you became informed after vaccinating your children, do not beat yourself up! You were merely doing what you were taught and trusted that u were protecting your children. Stop scaring the parents who did vaccinate. You are doing exactly what Doctors, nurses, the gov’t, & what Bill Gates is doing! Which is promoting FEAR. When you feed your mind with confidence&certainty, the body will follow…..I ask the parents to do their Homework & research…… Yes, we were taught that vaccinations protect. But ask yourself…….. “what if” we were taught the opposite????? Be true to yourself, your instincts. And most of all act out of confidence, not FEAR.

  5. Sadly it seems we as parents are not allowed to be just that.. I just found out the legal age of consent in my stat is 13 and now my 15 year old daughter can decide on what is done medically at the doctors office. I have been told she has to reply to all questions and I am not even allowed to see appointments that have been made or even have my say in her medical history. This is really out of control! I agree we should be having our children participate in their care but not giving them complete control when at times they don’t even know what the doctor is talking about or what the implications are. We as parents need to stand together and change this. They are OUR children.. and We as parents should be making those decisions not others who know nothing about our children!

  6. This is a somewhat unfortunate incident, the school clearly acting outside its scope of authority. However, this incident should, at most, provoke mild outrage, it hardly being as serious a violation of parental rights as some here think. It was a simple mistake by the school district, and while some harm was done, no overreactions as seen in some of the comments here should be made.

    • simple mistake, huh? And if it were penicllin given to a child with a penicllin allergy, would that also be a simple mistake? Replace this scenario with a loved one getting the wrong medication or vaccine, and let’s see if you change your tune. If that were given to my child, who has already had vaccine reactions in the past, it would likely cause permanent damage. As you can see, this young lady developed a rash all over her body as a result. If that is not her body crying out that something is wrong, I don’t know what is. Those vaccines have damaged her immune system. And I hope that mom fights hard and wins. This is a BIG unforgivable mistake, and resulted from someone not taking the rights of this parent seriously. BIG mistake.

I have already told my 4-year-old never to let anyone give her a shot. She says “I will kick and fight them.” She has no problem arguing with adults, even strangers (LOL) so I’m sure she would put up a huge fuss. Hopefully we are never in that position since we plan to homeschool but I still taught her.

I’m a Christian, an ex-Army Ranger (70′s) as well as a State L. E. Officer [I retire in 2 years : ) ]. I’m very much in favor and expect people to do “what ever is necessary” to protect their homes and their children.
If those in charge of the children in public school, act outside of the scope of their authority then justice must be served to protect the innocent and our rights (I have had some act outside of their scope of authority and they have answered dearly for it in the courts).

Some people in government service may think they have took all rights away from parents and government is now the leading authority of children, their wrong! We parents still have rights, we just need learn what authority is give to those in public schools.
I’ve heard so many parents here in my state say, “but that is what they told me” (teacher, counselor, principal etc.).
The mother of the young lady that was vaccinated without the parents written consent has a very strong case. From what I’ve read thus far, this was not an act of, “emplied consent based upon emergency treatment to save a life. It was negligence or overzealous empowerment if not both.”

When I speak at Homeschool groups, Churches and Civics groups and, I show people what their God given and protected civil and parental rights are, they always walk away feeling empowered, more confident and well assuredthat we have not went to sleep and awakened in a communist country. Don’t fallpray to the word play of power hungry people.

How is this less of an offense than a child getting a tattoo or body piercing without a parent’s consent? Did you know that in at least 31 states in this country, there are laws prohibiting minors from getting a tattoo or body piercing without parental consent? Many of the laws across the country establish financial penalties, prison time or both for violators. Most of the laws define “violator” as the person who performed the tattoo or piercing. This includes Michigan, where this child lives, and Florida. Source: National Conference of State Legislatures, found at http://www.ncsl.org/issues-research/health/tattooing-and-body-piercing.aspx

I wonder if these laws would have any relevance in the situation in Detroit. And what about the violation of the document that the mother had signed? Is there any legal bearing contained within that, or any other documents, that we sign with governmental agencies? Wouldn’t their acceptance of those documents imply that they would/should comply?

Nurses are taught to double and triple check. I personally would never let my kids get a vaccine at school. I’m not against vaccines but I have a pediatrician who keeps their vaccine records. I would refuse to have my kids weighed. My kids are healthy and again see their own pediatrician on a regular basis. Schools should not be doctors or make medical decisions for kids.

We will leave this meeting feeling completely justified in our actions, and with any luck either the family will agree, or at the very least be too afraid to stand up to us ever again.” That woman needs a lawyer!!!

Oh, if you have dogs then you want to make sure that the Vets don’t give the dogs vaccines or boosters when they are in the examination room. Quite a lot of dog owners have experienced that dogs get vaccinated against their will when they seek treatments for other problems. The veterinarians don’t even ask.

  19. When did “we the people” give schools the right to vaccinate anyhow? What we need to do is fight to get the “medical part” of medicine back in doctor’s offices, not in schools. I can see having a school nurse in case a kid gets hurt and needs a band-aid (like no one else can use a band-aid properly?) but she should not have the authority to perform any other function. Certainly no authority not given to her by the parent(s).

Possibly the ACLU should be contacted?

    • D. I think I understand but I don’t know for sure what happened in this country? I think that a long time ago we were lied to about this and we accepted those lies. What seemed like a good idea turned into the government’s right to force people against their will. Our founding fathers understood the threats presented to them by a tyrannical government because they lived through it. We went from a limited government that seemed friendly to what we have now, one that has overstepped it’s constitutional authority. People need to learn and understand the constitution and why the writers created what they did. Of course, that won’t help those who are truly blind. We need to speak out everywhere about this tyranny.

      Reply
  20. There are a several issues here and the first one is one of constitutional rights. The mother has every right to deny the school or clinic permission to vaccinate her children. This practice of forced vaccinations is tyrannical and is an issue directly addressed by the constitution.
The next one is one concerning the long term effects on health caused by bypassing the bodies own immune system. The healthy body has adequate defenses to ALL DISEASE CAUSING PATHOGENS. In other words: healthy people won’t get sick. Poking a needle into the skin bypasses the bodies front line defenses leaving the body defenseless against what comes through the needle. And that’s not to speak about the toxic metals used to prepare the vaccines.
If the government that has become tyrannical really wants to do something good for it’s people then it should force them to become healthy. I know this isn’t practical and neither would it be legal or right. The government doesn’t have the right to force anybody to do anything against their will. Public schools are run by the government and therefore have no rights to enforce something that is morally illegal.

  22. I agree with the right to chose for your children. I also know that my children are put at greater risk in the world w/o vaccines (for them) due to a genetic condition. I have to make the choice everyday on if an environment would be safe enough for them. So for us we opted to have them becasue they are at a greater risk w/o them. But I find it absolutely appalling that a school would force this on anyone’s child. Even if there was a consent real or implied somewhere in the schools paperwork they still should have contacted the parents prior to any action. There are personal, religious and health reason why parents chose to get or not get vaccines. My children should not have a live (nasal mist) flu vac due to a mitochondrial issue. Schools are becoming miniature dictatorships where our children are denigrated as second and third class people. Parents are losing more power to be involved with their children education – in a public school setting. Home school is on the rise becasue we see that public = government schools cannot and will not have our children’s best interests in mind. We are caught between two income families in order to live while the government raises our children in their image and likeness. Or, as many families have and continue to do, we have to sacrifice certain needs to ensure that our children can truly become all that they are capable of!

I know this is a little off topic but I have concerns about homeschooling. I have had a public ed teacher tell me that she has had kids come in from homeschooling into her class and that they are always “off” and socially inept. Her kids attended private schools. But I have bigger concerns with my child being an “inmate” as Stanley so eloquently put it. Just don’t want them to be marginalized or weird and we don’t have a lot of family in the area. But then again, I went to public school and it was just soo miserable!

    Reply
    • Diana, I had heard all the same stuff before I started homeschooling and I have to tell you that what you are describing is usually because the public school kids are often taught not to question and just do what they are told. True learning requires give and take, so that you can learn in the best way possible for that child. Public schools just aren’t set up to allow that, but I do occasionally hear of a great teacher who thinks outside the box and his/her students are so blessed! No one knows your child better than you and what kicks their brain into gear to get excited about learning! I have a 19, 17 and 16 year old that I have homeschooled and they are awesome people! You would love to be around them! They learn from every experience, because they aren’t afraid to ask! Anyway, our experience has been wonderful! (We did do 4-H and many other different things to help with the social, but unless you purposely keep them from people, they learn to enjoy the interaction and appreciate those opportunities!) BTW, many of my friends think that I am weird, because we eat differently, we enjoy different things and we think differently! (Like not taking vaccinations or running to the doctor for every sniffle!) Weird? So, we all need to learn to be who we are and not ashamed of it!

      • Watchmom3, I like your comment about home school and I agree with what you say about children developing social skills. They learn those skills while engaging in activities outside the school environment.
Parents should teach their children, it’s what they are for. I know that it must have been a challenge for you sometimes but I take it from your comment that the efforts have so far been worth it?
You also addressed another issue: that of what a school is designed to do. I remember having more difficult teachers than good ones. I won’t blame them directly because I believe they were taught the wrong way. The good teachers that I had were the ones that allowed us to ask what many would consider to be stupid questions. A child that wants to know doesn’t ask stupid questions; they ask questions concerning something they don’t understand. To not answer that question leaves a gap in the child’s knowledge and leads to confusion for the child. The problem really may be teachers that don’t understand what they are teaching and who don’t remember what it was like to be a child.
Vaccines? It sounds like you feel that we shouldn’t let them be given to our children and if that’s true I agree.

We are totally considered weirdos by people who know about what we do foodwise and not popping drugs for everything too! I’m still shocked they think it is crazy to not run to the Dr for a hang nail! “What if it gets infected?” :D Esp since on GAPS where we can’t join in bc it is so hard to explain, we just show up after everyone has eaten! I never fit in as a kid in grade school (I did fine once I left the dreadful school district I was in but always felt that I was weird for not fitting in! I guess we just need to take it one step at a time and adapt as needed.

  29. I wrote about this story too’ and it prompted quite a few conversations between my and my son. He’s 7 and asks why people want to put vaccines into children when they have toxins in them. He cannot understand why (nor can I, sometimes).

In Michigan, it was a nurse that operates from a medical center inside the school that did this. The school washed their hands clean of the responsibility of this, deferring it to the medical center. It looks like the school has some of sort of contract with the medical school.

Anyhow, I would sue whomever is responsible (and I believe the school should be responsible for any contracted worker on their premises). Her daughter is having health problems already from the shots and the mother explicitly signed a form to NOT vax her.

My son goes to public school. We don’t have the money to put him into a private school and we chose this option because I am having some health problems and cannot homeschool him as easily. He’s gifted, so finding a school that will work for him has been tough. One of my core reasons for healing my health is so I can insist that I homeschool him next year.

I have told him that if anyone tries to vaccinate him, he can yell, kick and scream. First, he is to calmly tell the school to contact us before they act. As a last resort, we have even told him he can run away from whoever is trying to give him a shot. Lastly (and most importantly), we told him that is he is given a shot against his will, it’s NOT his fault.

Hopefully, this story wakes more parents up. Whether or not one believes in vaccinations, a school (or whoever operates the health center at a school) should not vaccinate someone against parental consent, or even at all.

I am an advocate of vaccines, and also believe that all children attending public school should be vaccinnated – however, a minor should never never never be given non-essential (as in not an emergency situation) medical treatment without speaking to/getting permission from the parent directly prior. If they cannot get ahold of said parent, then nothing should be done. Consent forms should be for emergency situations only. If the parent opposes vaccines (it is my opinion) that they should homeschool or attend a school that follows similar principles to their belief structure. If the child as a medical condition that prohibits the use of vaccines (allergy etc), it should be well noted in the childs medical file and no medical professional in their right mind should administer without discussion with the parent.

    Reply
    • I just want to add, though i believe vaccines to be an absolute necessity in life, schools absolutely should NOT be giving or authorizing the administration of vaccines – i believe that the only appropriate venue for such things is in a medical office, hospital, or clinic with parent or legal guardian present. The school should be held accountable (as another said) because they are allowing this to occur with a child that is in their care. A parent or legal guardian should ALWAYS be there for medical treatment of a minor (with obvious exceptions for unexpected life-threatening emergencies – ambulance, ER etc where the parent cannot be reached)

    • Vaccines do cause autism as well as a number of other illnesses. Why? Because giving a young child what are we up to now, like 40 shots in their early years completely jacks up their immune system. There is no room for their own immune systems to develop when being injected continuously with toxins. It is an absolute disgrace!

Thank goodness he is not allergic but SUPPOSE this was the case in one of the schools where it was given against the parent’s knowledge or permission. DISASTER waiting to happen.

While I am pro-vaccine, I believe every parent has a right to make his/her own decisions about this matter. If this mother chose for her daugther not to be vaccinated, so be it; that’s her choice, and she deserves the right to make it. And when did schools even start doing this sort of thing?!? How grossly and completely inappropriate. Hypothetically, even if this Mom had wanted her daughter vaccinated, it should not have had anything to do with the school system! It will be interested to see how this will be resolved – likely quietly if the school system has anything to say about it.

Injecting a child with heroin is wrong, and having a STRANGER (no matter what their “qualifications” may be) inject your child with ANY substance that you have not approved is ALSO wrong. The child had an ALLERGIC REACTION to those vaccines, what right did the school or their nurse’s clinic have to administer those to her without her mother’s approval?! What if the reason her mom DIDN’T have her get those vaccinations in the first place is because she knew there was the possibility of an allergic reaction? The public (us!) have every right to be outraged along with the mother for this gross disregard for parental rights, and for the child’s rights as well.

It is against the Board of Registered Nurses in every state for a RN to vaccinate without a signed consent whether the child was in the hospital or not. And when the parent signs the medical treatment when a child is hospitalized, they must STILL sign a vaccine consent. If this occurred without the mother’s written consent, then there must be some portion of the story that is being missed. Like possible child abuse with enough evidence that the child needed vaccinations…that is just the first thing that comes to mind when I read about the blood and urine testing as well.

  44. I actually had a talk over the weekend with my 7.5 year old who is not vaxxed. Can’t recall how it started but we got around to talking about what vaccine are, how they work, etc. He asked ‘How can people believe they work if they have nasty stuff in them?’ Smart kid, eh?? I periodically have a talk with him how he should refuse to have anything done without me present and to insist the school call me for anything. On any given form for field trip, etc. I always put in big letters NO VACCINES. Sounds like I’ll be having another talk tonight… thanks Sarah.

I’m sorry, I’m on board with the eating healthy, but you’ve just taken this too far! No, that child should not have been vaccinated without the parents’ consent, BUT this reaction to vaccinations is founded fully on fear. There is no medical or scientific basis to support the claim that vaccinations are harmful. More and more, studies are showing that the disorders previously feared to be caused by vaccines are linked to eating high amounts of processed foods. Its the preservatives, additives, hormones and chemicals in our foods that are causing the problems. Most children receive those toxins in high doses, daily, as opposed to the small amounts of toxins that are rarely administered and found in vaccines. Ask yourself this: Would I rather my child become afflicted with and potentially die from a preventable disease OR would I rather give my child an extremely low and unsupported risk of being afflicted with a disorder as a result of protecting them from the horrible disease? Too many parents have kicked themselves for choosing the former. I, for one, support protecting my children and giving them the best life I can. For me, that means providing home cooked (and home grown, when possible) unprocessed and organic foods and using green cleaning products, no deodorant and deodorizers. Don’t get swept up in fear. Educate yourselves!

    • Actually, there is a major difference in having something injected into the body as opposed to eating it. People are opposing vaccines not out of fear but out of being properly educated. Give me a break!

Also I want to add that I KNOW the government will test vaxes on people in the military and their families, because they called me asking about a vax once and I basically told them we didnt get it but thanks for calling to confirm thats why they do it :-X

@Nathan, there are several problem with modern vaccinations – autism aside. The Mercury content is a problem, as well as the inclusion of aborted fetal cells in many of them. Not only is that completely unnecessary, but it’s morally objectionable for many people.

@Maeghan, don’t let people tell you that you can’t homeschool your children. As their mother, you have insight and instinct for *your* children that classroom teachers just don’t have. I’m a classroom-trained teacher, and believe me – a degree is only a hindrance in the beginning, but it can be overcome. LOL

I am wondering why they only pulled out one student? Does anybody have anymore details about this story? And they took her blood and urine? That is so strange! Did they suspect she was carrying something?

we have alwasy homeschooled except one year. My kids were going to a DOD school(schools on military base) my husband was hurt/sick and we had to put them in for that year because we were really busy with him. Anyway that was when the swine flu vax just came out. They sent home consent forms for the vax I was so ticked off for one they tried to act like they were doing military families a favor saying we got priotity to it LIES they wanted our families to TEST IT! Second , they got a ton of kids all lined up assembly style like cattle and just shot them up! I took my kids out and signed it but I also said NOOOOOOOO in huge letters. I made them stay home when they gave them too because I didn’t trust them , you cant trust anyone with your kids anymore.

  50. It’s so incredibly scary how marginalized parental rights have become. Schools, medical practitioners and government officials see no need to consult with parents before treating children however they see fit. Whether it’s taking away a child’s lunch, vaccinating without permission or teaching anything outside of the “three R’s” it seems our ability to raise our children the way we see fit is in serious danger.
I’m so glad I’m able to home school. I know people may think I’m sheltering or isolating my children, but it is for reasons like this. I’m protecting them while they are too young to protect themselves.

    • Kim, most home schooled children are much better able to cope with life than kids who have had their love of learning destroyed by the government schools. They also can interact with adults, without problem. They are usually much more confident and self motivated than the inmates of government schools. Our family was involved with a large home school support group for many years, and I have seen many children grow up home schooled. Most of them are quite successful in higher education or jobs, are independent and responsible, and I cannot think of a single one who ever got in serious trouble.
And many of the people in our group refused all vaccines for their children.

You are doing the right thing.

      • inmates? Give me a break Stan. there are lots of great schools out there and great kids in them. Home schooling is not the answer to life’s problems. Also it’s not feasible for a lot of people who have to work to support their family.

        • @ Barb: there are programs available for home schoolers to teach other children besides their own. It requires some special documentation but it can be done. The “other documentation” is just our guberment’s way of still keeping track though. Bet on it.

Education has changed remarkably in the past 20 years. So much so, that I wouldn’t even think of putting a child in a public school. And Barb, it’s not the schools themselves. Of course there “good schools” – it’s the curricula they require which is upsetting. I have a friend who says “the hallmark of a good school nowadays is whether or not anyone got shot today”. Sometimes I feel they are right in that assessment.

I would also like to know why they took blood & urine as well. Also, not only should parents be informed prior to the action, but permission should be required and they should be present.

I was only talking about this an hour or so ago. I can’t help thinking it won’t be long before we have these situations in the UK. Homeschooling it might have to be!

  53. This is in my area and I was just flabbergasted at the audacity. Our state has exemptions for religious, medical & philosophical reasons. Not to mention, most schools (at least my son’s) will not administer ANYTHING without written directions on the emergency card or from a doctor.

What’s shameful is some waved it off saying “It’s not my child”… Next time, it very well could be and NO ONE acknowledges it until it is way too late to stand for personal freedoms/ rights.

I’m 47 years old, when I was in elementary school the school nurse was also the county nurse practitioner. Every year she would line classes up for their annual “shots.” My mother had 5 of us in school ad she instructed us to never allow the nurse to give us a shot. She told us to demand they call her first and to do what we had to until they did. All of this even though she had it written in every file that they were not to iinnoculate her children. One year the nurse came to our house and I remember her and my Mom arguing about this. We never got shots at school, I think tey feared my 5 foot red-headed Mom. My point is that this is not a new tactic.

@Nathan- the issue is too complex to fully address in these comments, but the gist of it is that we are overwhelming our children’s systems with too many vaccines containing too many toxins. And, yes, this is one thing that can trigger autism. There is lots of great information out there if you are willing to set aside what mainstream medicine feeds you, and take an open-minded look at it.

Nathan, if you research (read research, not CDC junk science) you’ll understand. Most educated about them, even when choosing to vaccinate, follow a much different schedule than is suggested by the CDC.

“We will meet with the student’s family to ensure that the issue is addressed appropriately.”

If I was that dear mother, my answer would be, “We will meet in COURT to address this issue appropriately – NOTHING LESS.” The country needs a loud and clear example that forcible vaccination is a criminal offense.

    • Agreed! A lot of parents don’t realize either that there are waiver forms that, by state law, they HAVE to give to you for vaccine exemption. But so many parents don’t even know.

One of my children received an unauthorized vaccination a day after he was born, in the hospital, and I was not informed of it until a nurse accidently told me about it.

    • This happened to my son too, but I didn’t realize the depth of this “mistake” (which I believe was intentional), until much later, and I don’t have enough proof to do anything about it. – When I was in labor, they got my husband to sign a “blanket consent” form for all medical procedures- apparently my birth plan became toilet paper to them. He was taken for his hospital pictures and I was told I could not come, he came back a red screaming mess and had been given a Hep. B. vaccine- I had specifically asked not to give him this in my birth plan, as he was not at risk. He reacted to other vaccines, (febrile seizures, eczema etc). as we did consent to other shots until about 1 1/2 yrs. old, and he now has Autism.

  65. Can we say LAWSUIT? The problem is no amount of money will take that poison out of your child’s body. This has happened not just at schools but also doctor’s offices too (when the child is perhaps a young teen and Mom doesn’t go back to the examination room with him/her. Stay with your child at all times at the doctor’s office!
